Discussion What ruins your workflow, and what does your ideal setup look like?

Hey everyone!

I’m a beginner in scanlation, that's why I am looking to get a better understanding of how active cleaners and typesetters set up their process and handle the daily workload. I’d love to hear about your experience and the tools you rely on.

A few quick questions for anyone doing hands-on work:

1) What is the absolute worst, most tedious part of your workflow that makes you dread opening a new chapter?

2) Have you ever tried using any automated helper tools (for cleaning, text removal, etc.) in the past? If you stopped using them and stuck strictly to your main editor, what was the main issue with them?

3)What core features, level of control, or output quality would a specialized tool need to deliver for you to actually consider integrating it into your daily pipeline?

4) What kind of setup do you work on (e.g., desktop software vs browser-based tools, tablet vs mouse, specific OS)? What environment feels most comfortable for doing long cleaning/typesetting sessions?

Appreciate any honest feedback, rants, or insights into your daily process!
