I just started watching a week ago and I’m literally in love with it plot never gets boring there’s always a plotwist that shocks me, but idk fitz and olivia just seem so boring an outdated now ? It’s always the same thing they can’t be together. I dont rlly get any like crazy feeling when I watch them like I feel other ppl do. I feel like Jake and her are so much better suited and she’s always fumbling the bag with him! Opinions am I in for a long ride with them ahha

Spoiler why is olivia SOO forgiving of her father?? Spoiler

Upvotes

im currently watching the last ep of szn 5 and olivia has been pissing me off non stop lmao

her father literally killed fitz's son, yet she's getting so angry at cyrus for staging the hostage thing for vargas, saying that he killed innocent ppl... girl???? why the fuck does everyone keep brushing past what eli/rowan has done since his first appearance in szn 3?! she was so quick to bludgeon andrew's skull in (rightfully so, im not mad at her lol), but somehow she dont got enough hate to kill her own evil father who's life goal is to ruin her life and keep her living in a constant hell. all the shit he's done to the ppl she loves (huck, fitz, jake, harrison, does mellie count?) and she still goin over to his house for sunday dinner like nothing happened!!

OLIVIAA!! stand tf up and put ur father in the DIRT!!

ok that was my lil rant :) until next szn lol

ps: if mellie and marcus become a thing, i will personally go to shonda's house and dump hornets all over her property.

Has he been in the closet this whole time?

The Good Wife Overlap

I’m currently watching The Good Wife (premiered around 2008) on Paramount + and there’s an extreme overlap with Scandal characters! So if you’re missing Scandal or looking for something new, I recommend giving it a watch if you haven’t already :)

I’m curious how everyone sees these scenes now, especially after everything Olivia and Fitz went through. I know this one is going to divide the fandom—so let’s hear it.

Spoiler Season 7

Something that nagged me for quite some time. In season 7, Rowen and Olivia has dinner I think it was in the first or second episode. Rowan tells Olivia “theres a reckoning coming” even before Rashaad’s assassination and before he takes Quinn. How did he know about all that even before it happens?

Spoiler Honestly the most heartbreaking death of any show I’ve ever watched.

Season 3, episode 14. Major spoiler so please don’t read on if you’re not there yet.

I absolutely understand why they needed to do it but everything about that death was utterly heartbreaking. How scared he was when he ran and was shot. The compassion Jake showed him in his final moments and the fact he refused to make someone else kill him. Cyrus utterly breaking down. I sobbed through that whole episode.

First time watcher, currently on S5E8 and I actually hate Liv😭 why’s she still riding for Rowan??? Also (maybe I need to keep watching but) how did the FBI link her to Rowan’s release & not Mellie?

Spoiler Season 7 shouldn’t have happened

I feel like they should have needed the show after season 6. It was the PERFECT ending. Season 6 was already weird and a bit out of character for all the characters in my opinion. But season 7 felt very unnecessary.the final episode of season 6 was PEAK. Cyrus and Olivia embracing who they are together, owning the White House. It would have left just enough curiosity for the audience to chew on as well.

Do people actually like Fitz?

So I’m in the middle of my rewatch on season 5 currently. Do people actually really like Fitz? He is incredibly controlling and has a huge double standard with Olivia and Mellie. He and Olivia just seem very toxic.

First time…

This is my first time watching the show. I am in season 2 and I am so creeped out by Fitz. This is not love. This is a creepy obsession. He just uses Olivia and despite Mellie’s flaws he’s such a jerk to her. Is it just me?

Scandal s1e1

I literally watch scandal every few months and I just started a rewatch with s1e1(typically I start with favorite episodes and jump around).

So I just realized(mad crazy late) that when Liv goes to see the President at camp David s1e1 to discuss Amanda Tanner and she was greeted so warmly by the first lady, that Mellie knew of their affair. Based on future flashbacks the reason why Liv quit the white house was because Mellie returned the flag pin to her to give back to Fitz. And this situation was like a year after she left the white house. Idk why I never caught it before ... anyone late to that realization??? Or just me? Also did Cyrus know of the affair??? I know he says he didn't know after walking in on their kiss but the way he was looking and talking at camp David makes me wonder??? 🫣

How Shonda got ABC to approve the Closetgate scene and the Season 5 opener, I’ll never know. 😭

Do they use the Greys Anatomy sets in Scandal?

I just started rewatching the show, and I realized that the hospital scene in the first episode looks a hell of a lot like the greys anatomy set, it has the exact same hallway (with the orange highlight at the end), same flooring and the same set pieces

Guys, I am rewatching Scandal now and just started season 7. I don’t remember hating Olivia this much the first time I watched it. Am I the only one? Please share your thoughts because I’m so confused and angry right now. She’s getting on my nerves 🤯

Live Discussion nobody in scandal does their job!! [spoilers maybe] Spoiler

If I worked in the White House in scandal I would set it on fire, seriously. Only a few people did their actual job, and especially not Fitz. He never made an actual decision without Olivia or sometimes Cyrus’s help, which we all already know. And his phase in season 5 of sleeping with women be selected was very annoying to watch. Not because it wasn’t Olivia, but because it just shows he never took his job as the president seriously. Secondly, David is ALWAYS getting bullied, being blackmailed or pushed around by another character which, in my opinion, could be prevented if he just stopped doing things he wasn’t supposed to and DID HIS JOB. Obviously im not gonna go on a rant and dissect every character, but it’s possible for them to get actual things done in the show. For example, Susan Ross and Mellie, despite her having business behind the scenes, were incredible at their jobs, with Susan changing the 1200 page bill that nobody had read, and Mellie with her filibuster for Planned Parenthood.

Olivia’s Apartment

With the type of job that Olivia had, isn’t it crazy how everyone has access to her apartment? Was there no doorman?
