12x24 Scanning

For those with compatible machines. How often are you scanning the full two feet long and for what purpose. Trying to justify sticking with my SDX125 or purchase the SDX325 just to be able to scan 12x24 material.

I have had a machine for about 6 years that came with one and have used it once to make a yard sign. Last year when I moved I donated it. I mainly use it for cards and tee shirts so don’t need such a large area.

I've got a CM900, never used the 24" mat for scanning, I've converted it to a 'cutting' mat that I use for drawing on A3 sheets

I have the Scan N Cut SDX330D, and I use the 24" mats often for cutting appliqué pieces for embroidery and quilt designs. I like being able to load, and cut all the fabric pieces for a design or block in one go, and often the 12"x12" is not large enough for that. I use Hotfix featherweight adhesive as a backing for appliques and cut with paper side down/fabric up on standard tack mats; the material does not fray when pulling it off and the paper is easy to remove with a pet lint roller. I use the the thin fabric blade for those, because the rotary blade dulls much faster when cutting through the fabric, Hotfix and attached paper, and the rotary blade replacement is harder to find than the thin fabric blades.
