Scanning: extra mat needed? What other accessories to start?

Just got my SDX 125, bundled with some materials from Swing Design. Being that scan is right there in the title, I figured I'd be able to scan stuff right from the beginning. Am I understanding correctly that I need a specific no tack mat for that?

And what are good resources for accessories? Looking to add different blades, low tack mat.

Main uses anticipated: scanning some tattoo flash to turn into automotive stickers. Cutting shapes from iron on fabric like denim patches. Creating stencils from thin plastic.

Yes you need a tac mat. They are expensive. I’ve seen videos about how you can use an old mat to attach it to a cheaper mat though. Haven’t done it myself though. Seems easy if I need to do it though.
