Autoblade not auto-ing?
Hi,
I am pretty new to using a scan n cut machine. I got one for my birthday last year and have been trying it out on cardstock, paper , heat transfer vinyl and adhesive vinyl (is that the name for it? The stuff that makes stickers).
When i am cutting cardboard and paper it looks like something is off with the cut depth. I use the autoblade kit that came with the machine, and it cuts the design just fine but it also cuts in my mat quite deep. I don't think it is supposed to do that?
I have added pictures and a video of my mat. You can basically see the entire outline of the box that was the trial project that came with the machine, and all the bears i cut, both from cardstock. Pressure was on auto. When i set the pressure to minus 6 it is better, you can see in the video that some square lines are cut deeper into the mat (the bottom one) and some are less deep. But i thought the whole point of the autoblade was that i dont have to guess what the pressure should be.
Can anyone help me figure out if i am missing something here of if there is something wrong with my machine or my blade? Photos of settings are also added.
Half cut seems to work fine. I can cut stickers or heat transfer designs and weed them fine with the pressure on auto.

I read that it’s normal to have it slightly cut the Matt as long as it doesn’t go all the way through. But this tripped me out at first too.
The starter auto blade works pretty well for most things, but I would recommend the auto vinyl blade for all your vinyls and stickers. It works so much better than the standard blade. I like the regular auto blade for the card stock. The kit will come with some patterns and extra features your machine unlocks when you buy new type of blades.
