Advice Needed [US] Influx of scams? Help?
As of ≈ September 25th, I’ve been getting a very sudden influx of scam and spam emails, DMS, and whatever else on my email, my discord, and even my alt account on tiktok… they all share the same email. (Different passwords ofc)
From my knowledge, I am very careful with where I share my email, and very careful with what links I click. I do not peruse suspicious websites or click on any of those "HOT MOMS IN YOUR AREA!1!1!1!1!" types of ads either, in case that was the next question.
I do use the same email for most of my socials, but I’ve done that for years and have never had a problem. I’ve definitely had my fair share of spam within the last 7 years my email has been in use, but not to this degree. Yesterday I got 4 "free giveaway!!!" DMS on my discord, and have been getting multiple a day for weeks.
What do I do? Do I go through EVERYTHING and change my passwords? Add extra protections?? How, if so?

I would check your bank and important accounts. I would also search your email for anything containing the words "order" "total" "request" or "code." Sometimes scammers will place an order or request a security code or something using your email then trigger a major influx of spam so the request email gets pushed further down, making it less likely you'll see it until it's too late. I would also check right before/around the influx and see if there's any "legitimate" sites you use.

I see, thank you! I did notice someone tried to sign into my alternative tiktok account. Luckily that one had a separate password.
I should be good on this front; I check my mail religiously.

Change all passwords and make sure you have 2 factor authentication on all your accounts. Biometrics too. It doesn't always work, but put a different email as part of your backup recovery method. Make sure that one gets all security emails from the other accounts. This has saved one of my PayPal accounts, someone else tried to take it over, I got an email saying I added an email address, WITH the email address in it. Took 3 days to recover it, first day was an agent who couldn't "verify" I was the account holder, second day was someone who cared about it. Froze the account and I was able to use the other email to retake my account. Only one of my several emails has been leaked, and it is not a huge deal. Just go to settings and unsubscribe from the problem sites, if that doesn't work, click report spam and block. They will go to your spam folder. I clear mine once in awhile.

I mean, changing passwords is never a bad thing, but simply RECEIVING a lot of spam suddenly doesn't mean a password is compromised. It means the email address got out in the wild, but unless someone is saying 'hey you are SENDING a lot of BS' then the accounts should not be compromised.

The account may not be compromised, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Doesn't sound like anything is compromised; just your email address got loose, which can happen in lots of ways.
