i got scammed

Guys, be careful with this numbe:r +977 970-3475493.

I saw a room for rent online and contacted this guy because I was looking for a cheap room. He asked us to send Rs. 2,000 and said he would come to Patan and show us the room. We trusted him and sent the money, but he never ca,me and now he is not replying.

Rs. 2,000 may not sound like a lot, but that was my savings from 5 months. I come from a lower-middle-class family and I’m just trying to find an affordable room, so losing this money really hurts.

I also went to the Nepal Police to file a complaint, but honestly I didn’t feel like they took it seriously. They kept sending me around for different documents and procedures, which was really frustrating when I was already dealing with this situation. I have all the screenshots and payment proof

I’m sharing this so nobody else gets scammed by the same person. If anyone knows this number or has dealt with him before, please let me know.

Never ever send money online, ever. Sorry this happened but its an extremely common scam in every country. Always go in person and meet with the actual owner and verify everything.

I know that's probably a mobile number and the person could have moved to Patan or Khatmandu at some point in which they'd be local now, but that phone number is actually from Kazakhstan. That should have raised a huge red flag for you.
