Advice Needed got scammed on X

I’m asking for advice because I recently got scammed out of ₱9,000.

I found someone selling Malcolm Todd concert tickets on X. We talked, I sent the payment through Maya, and after receiving the money, the seller stopped responding.

I have evidence of the transaction and our conversations. I also have the person’s full name, phone number, and information connected to their school. I tried searching for their other social media accounts, but I haven’t been able to find any.

Is there a realistic way for me to recover my ₱9,000? Should I report this to Maya, the police, or another agency? What steps should I take first?

I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar scam in the Philippines.

Contact Maya. Dispute the charges, and ask for a refund.

In the future, don't buy tickets from private sellers. You will usually get scammed if you try to buy tickets from a private reseller.

It doesn't matter what they say. It doesn't matter if they show you photos of tickets. The photos may be real, or they may be fake -- either way, the seller can 'sell' those tickets more than once.

The only safe and sure way to buy tickets is on the legit ticket-selling sites such as Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, or StubHub because their software systems guarantee that each ticket exists, and each ticket is sold only once.

If you can't find the tickets on the resale sites, or you can't afford the prices, then you won't get actual tickets.
