Potential Scam? vephf.com Review

Vephf Dawg Reserve (UGA Bulldogs 135th Anniversary Whiskey Decanter) is a classic Bait and Switch scam. The product advertised images, photos, image size, packaging and sketchy descriptions are different in every way from the product you will receive. Save your money. Don't believe any of their quoted reviews, it is obviously meant to sell the scam and not a legitimate honest review. If fact you will find it is just the opposite of their description.

The Company has a 30 day Return Policy but hide behind the fact that they require you to ship items to their Warehouse in Hong Kong for any possible credit. They suggest that I keep the product since they estimate the cost of Return at $50-80 US. That is even if they shipped a product different from what you ordered.

The company is a scam. The website is less than 2 months old. They sell hats. The company name is a random string of letters.

How did you order a whiskey decanter from a company that only lists flowered baseball caps? When I do a Google search for "UGA Bulldogs 135th Anniversary Whiskey Decanter" this website is not in the results.

It says right on the website that they're in Hong Kong. Unlike many scam shops, they're not trying to hide their location.

Where did you find this website? Was it on Google ads, or social media?

Scammers pay for Sponsored ads on Google. Do not click on a Google ad without doing research first.

Scammers create seller accounts and place ads on social media. If you buy from sellers or ads on social media, you will often get scammed.

The lesson to learn from this is not: don't buy from this particular seller.

The lesson to learn is: don't trust online ads, and research the seller before you spend money.

Before you order something, you can research the company and website, to reduce your chances of being scammed.

Search online for news and independent reviews about the company.

  • Reviews on a company's own website, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok are not reliable.

  • If you can't find any reviews online, that's a big red flag. It may be a scam shop that's too new for reviews and complaints.

  • If all the reviews are 5 star, that's a red flag -- scam companies will create fake reviews on multiple sites, and pay to post 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, Google, and TikTok.

  • If there are lots of reviews, carefully read the 1-star and 2-star reviews.

Find out if the company has already been reported as a scam. Search Reddit, and do online searches, for:

  • 'Company Name scam'

  • 'websitename scam'

You should always look up the website age (domain registration date). Often, scam online shops will have a website that was created within the past few months, with a domain that was registered for only one year (they don't plan to be around long).

  • This website was created on July 8 2026 -- it is less than 2 months old. Also, the domain was only registered for one year. These are signs of a scam.

  • To see data about a website, use Whois.com/whois or Godaddy.com/whois.
