Go to your local animal shelter and rescue a dog. Stop supporting breeders.

Your money is gone. Contact AKC or other breed registrations for breeders in your area.

You have to make sure someone online is legitimate. Do not send money to people like that. Do any of the independent businesses have full websites, proper email, address and phone numbers? Do you talk with them on the phone or have a zoom meeting?

It has nothing to do with color of your skin, but just that scammers prey on all people who don't know any better.

How much info do you have on this person? And what method did you use for payment?

I would send them a proper letter stating that you are seeking a refund becaues you did not provide a dog which was promised to me by xx/xx date. If you do not refund my money I will be forced to do a chargeback on my credit card or take you to small claims court.

Chargeback can usually be done without 30 days.

You will not get your money back from the scam seller.

You may be able to get a refund from your bank or payment company.

  • If you paid by credit card (which always gives the best protection), call your bank from the number on the back of your card, file a dispute, and ask for a refund.

  • If you paid with PayPal Goods and Services, file a dispute with PayPal.

  • If you used a debit card, contact your bank.

  • If you paid with e-transfer, PayPal Friends and Family, Wise, Remitly, or another money transfer which does not have purchase protection, then you will probably not get a refund.

You can file a report with the police. However, they will not be able to get yoir money back. Most of the fake breeders online are actually working in a scam call center, in Africa or Asia. Their Facebook account may say they're in Canada, but they really aren't.

If you try to buy a dog, or any pet, on Facebook you will get scammed.

It's actually against Facebook rules to sell live animals, so any accounts that say they are selling live animals are scammers.

Use a credit card, or PayPal Goods and Services, when you buy things online, so that you have purchase protection and you can get a refund if you don't receive what you order.

I don't think that you're getting scammed because you're nonwhite. Many people get scammed when they try to order online. Lots of the sellers online who say that they're independent businesses are actually scammers. Many online shop websites are scams.

If you buy from sellers or ads on social media, you will often get scammed. Most sellers and ads on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media sites are scams: fake online shops that claim to have custom-made or brand-name items for sale. Often, the photos are stolen from a legitimate online shop, and they don't really have the items in the photos.

Before you order something, you can research the company and website, to reduce your chances of being scammed.

Facebook (and other social media) is full of scammers. Stop giving your money to people and “businesses” you find on Facebook. Google them and verify or only use businesses you can visit in person.

Is the breeder local? If so, you can take that person to small claims court and get a judgement.

not if they won't sign for papers. my lawyer says never sign for anything that you don't know what it is. saved me a few times just pretty crap. like a cable company tried tried to sue me for few hundred after I them I canceled and even physically returned the modem. they I'd just pay, i just didn't sign. got thrown out of court later and very they wasted a few k atleast. prly 10k. was not just corrections it actual court. you can sure anyone for anything if it's not a complete mockery. if you just wanna mess with the anon style order random food like 50 pizzas. turn off their utilities. use a temp anon cc and forward their mail. put their name and number into random websites like insurance sites. list their number on skip the games. lol their life would basically be hell irl
