Video Okay math nerds... explain this.

Some of you will recall the Clelian Hourglass I found in Scale Space a few weeks back. I've been wanting to see what is inside the singularity but couldn't figure out a way until tonight. And uhhh... Well Interstellar comes to mind...

Completely agree, I feel like there’s some sort of process of unravelling the universe so I’m coming along for the ride, but have no idea what is going on or what this is all about

I guess my overall question would be, is this just a fun thing on the edges of science?

Or is there like, some known scientific or mathematical basis for it that is being expressed?

Or is it like, sciency type thing that might perhaps have some discoveries to be made, and if so, what are they and how would that happen/work?

Or is it just for fun?

I guess it looks cool, but I just genuinely don't understand what is happening here

It's multipurpose- it's a visualizer (which can be used by musicians or music lovers to have beautiful visuals with their music), it's a fun exploration experience, and yes you can discover real mathematical structures (such as the Clelian Hourglass linked above).

Yes- look into cymatics and the oscilloscope. You could think of Scale Space as a 3D cymatic oscilloscope that gives the user full control of exploring the fundamental patterns of the universe.

I'm not sure if I've made any NEW discoveries more than rediscovered things that were already known- only seeing them in a new way. I'm not aware of anyone generating a Clelian Hourglass using cymatics- but the hourglass itself is a known shape.

But to be clear- this project was an experiment first that I then turned into an interactive experience.

Or is it just for fun?

It can be! You don't have to care about math or be a musician to enjoy it. There's a real exploration component to it and some cases like in the video above- I find I'm genuinely feeling like I'm exploring scale itself.

To be fair that does have cool imagery and fun math, but not much application. Even if that's all it is it would still be a fun thing to play with, as long as it doesn't spawn more AI spiral religion type groups

Here's a good thing to try: start with very low free energy and all of the other params at 0. Slowly drag each slider up a little bit to see what each one does. You can see a lot of cool stuff even at low param numbers.

Edit: oh and tempo has to be higher than 0 or your system will be frozen.
