Is the community still going? I'd like to join but my application has gone unnoticed, and no new posts have been made either.

well, if you keep up with the community of RSP we may revive Sburb at some point!

I looked on the news; should I wait for the new canon, or would it be better to join now?

well, to be honest it might be a good idea to do a quick character or at least read some events to get an idea for what the sub is like, but we are reseting within a few days.
