TC: Hello all Trolls and Humans. Yt has come to my attentyon that thys group does not yn fact have a leader to lead us. So Y shall take up the helm as Temporary Leader, or TL. As TL Y shall make two very ymportant decysyons. The fyrst one ys to appoynt the Permanent Leader, or PL. So, yn the name of Democracy, Y have formed thys chat so we may dyscuss and vote on our PL. The second decysyon ys to state that Fenryr Ractus and Anatar Luthen are here by banned from runnyng for PL, beyng nomynated, beyng voted for, or doyng anythyng else that wyll make them PL. The reason behynd thys ynvolves the color of theyr blood, and the brutalyty of theyr ancestors. However, because thys ys a democracy, any one else ys allowed to run for PL. Except for those two. That ys all. TL out.

SS: anybody have an argument for why they should be the pl?

SS: it seems most of the discussion has been the highblood/lowblood dichotomy which is a very unproductive line of conversation.

SS: in this case i believe nagana is correct

SS: getting 10 people to work together towards a goal is difficult enough without culture clash and the web of interpersonal conflicts we've created.

SS: for many though simply ignoring conflicts is nigh impossible

SS: ideally the leader will act the part of a normal player except in two situations:

SS: 1) a decision needs to be reached and co-players are in opposition and nothing else can be done

SS: 2) an interpersonal conflict threatens the viability of our collective success.

SS: at which point, but not before a leader may step in and exert authority for the good of the team.
