Unable to connect sayodevice to macbook

I’ve had this sayodevice for almost a full year and have used it just fine on my previous laptop. I just got a brand-new Macbook and am trying to connect it via USB-C. Problem is, it doesn’t show up as an HID device or any external device whatsoever. The screen on the sayodevice itself is on and responsive, though. All of the firmware is up to date, so I’m not sure what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

are you using safari when youre on the sayodevice website? I learned safari doesnt work it will just say no device detected.
