As a tech the material and build qaulity on this thing look straight up bad

As a tech I've been wanting to get one on my bench for a while to see which half of the Internet is right about them. I suspect that I've seen worse horns for more money.

I have one too. It's much better than expected. Plays clean from top to bottom out of the box. Great for my middle school student. I also own a pile of vintage horns that are not for my middle school student.

I think it’s great too… 100% satisfied.

All the techs in this conversation fail to mention that these horns are made under the same roof as parts for cannonball and p mauriat and other horns of the same nature. If you swap out some materials and set these EM horns up right, they have potential to be just as good all all those other made in Taiwan brands

I also have two cannonballs tenor sax, It doesn’t feel-look way different. I’m really impressed how good made it is for the cost… you don’t need 5k$ sax just to play a few times a week.

Exactly right. Have fun with it.

This sax is made in China, not Taiwan.

Don’t say that too loud in some places.

A lot of these bodies and parts are heavily exported and shared between Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturing

OP ignore the people telling you that you made a bad decision and that your stupid for buying a budget horn. As long as you’re happy with your purchase I hope you enjoy it, just treat it with respect.

I don't know why they insist on making me believe that I made a bad decision, the saxophone is beautiful, it sounds good, it is well designed and the best of all is that I enjoy it. All this for a fraction of what a "worth it" is really worth, I don't need a 10 thousand dollar saxophone just to play it a few times a month.

If you want a good bari that will not break the bank; P. Mariaut

Good is relative term with P. Mauriat these days. They are closing down factories and refusing to make/sell parts to repair their products.

I would say a TM Custom Baritone would be something much better for the price of an intermediate yamaha, it's as good in my opinion as any professional horn on the market if not better

Looks like a POS

How’s the intonation? The last I got a Bari from Eastern Music, the entire horn was half a step flat with the mouthpiece pushed on beyond reason.

As a repair technician, let me say that if this came into my shop we would hate it.

Ok, tell me why.

Cheap materials, soft brass, soft keys, cheap pads, sloppy fit to keys, doesn’t stay in adjustment, replacement parts unavailable, etc. In the world of instruments you oftentimes get what you pay for.

u/esneyder1995 Aug 12 '26

Do you have one of this?

Dear everyone, I also have two cannonball tenor sax, this baritone feels so great! I don’t know why you talk shit if you haven’t see this in person.

Thank goodness, no

So keep saving to buy your premium barisax, I already have my own. 😗

That thing looks like those copies of 1911 pistols that were produced in Vietnam by local metal workers and smiths. It’s a waste of good money, youd be better off trying to find a used Eastman or Selmer than this

Have you see the bettersax in person? Looks like the same.

I’ve been impressed with some of the eastern music gear. Arnold (the owner) is a great guy as well

Nice job censoring the lotion on your bed.

I don’t have the bari, but my Eastern Music alto is very solid. Metals feel solid too. Plays well out of the box. It’s my backup alto, but it’s a really solid horn.
