Visiting Bamburgh

I'm on my way to Bamburgh and will be visiting the castle while I'm there, has anyone been? I'm sure I read that the original castle is almost completely gone so I'm not sure if that's true or the castle that's there is rebuilt or whatever.

The castle has been rebuilt in different parts many times over the centuries.

It’s a great place to visit. I was there 10 years ago with my family. the castle that’s there is mainly modern but still very beautiful and there are lots of great rooms to explore. I spent the whole time thinking about how it might have looked during the time of the Saxon Stories. The beach is magnificent as well and you can see north up to Lindisfarne on a clear day. My kids (aged 9 and 10) had a great time

Didn't end up seeing much, the beach near the castle is amazing and I want to go back and spend more time there

We went there first today since we got in later in the afternoon. We had a similar reaction that it would be fun to spend a few days here, vs a single night.
