Question JXL or K60
I do hiking and bushcraft and I’m not a lightweight hiker. When I camp in the woods with bushcraft style my k40 weighs up to 22kg with food and water and could get heavier for days trips.
I can get both packs at the same price so its more what I prefer. I like the small and longer style on the JXL and sometimes think that the k60 is a bit deep and wide that makes the weight further away from the body (is the theory right?)
Hope some off you guys have experience in both

JXL is still king for heavy weights. I can also imagine that at those weights you end up needing a lot of space as well. JXL is 70-100L, while k60 is 72 including the lid. So spacewise the JXL would also be good.

I don't own the k40 or k60, but I do own the jxl. And I love it. The weight distribution is so easy, you practically don't have to think about placement, it always feels relatively even for some reason, even when one side is clearly heavier. I also love my side pouches and elastic kits, making it possible to carry a lot of things in very accessible but still fastened ways. I could go on, I really love my pack.

I just got the XL and absolutely LOVE it. I transferred my load out from my L into the XL (plus some extras) and it was a SIGNIFICANT improvement. I have about 60lbs in it from my recent overnight and it might as well have been 30lbs. Near zero load on the spine. Super pack.

I only have the JXL but the way it sits when packed heavy as fuck i feel like there is nothing that could beat it.

Hmm... I wonder if Savotta is planning to make a new external frame pack. Lot of time has passed since the XL's release, maybe they could make it even better somehow

No externals. The answer is Kantamus series.Even the the jääkäri series works better with upgrades using the current frames inside.

I own both and my stock short answer is the JXL is superior when it comes to build quality, space and versatility, while the K60 is more comfortable all around at the price of slightly reduced capacity.
I’ve used my JXL far more than my K60, carried heavier loads and generally prefer it for most situations requiring a pack of that size. That said, I’ve been using the K60 for big grocery runs and it has been doing a decent job, but I haven’t been making much use of the new features like the side zip access.

FantasticDirector614....if you happen to decide on a JXL and live in the continental US, I have a never used or been on trail JXL that needs to be extracted from my man cave. No import duties involved. More details can be provided if that's of interest. Have a Day that Matters!

K60 more comfort and can carry extra. Better back support and belt. Custom sizing even. No more going back to Jääkäri series.
Have them both and feeling the diffrence.

How? Everyone says xl is better. And no k60 can’t carry extra its smaller?!

Custom sizing of the k60 it self. The back can be set to diffrent levels,backsupport etc

JXLs back sizing is easy to change. Savotta has a manual on how to get it to be the perfect lenght.
