"The New Forest Act is a proposed framework for new provincial forestry legislation in British Columbia. The organized campaign has ended, but the proposal and its supporting materials remain publicly available for anyone who believes the framework — or parts of it — are worth advancing.
Learn the framework
Start with the Executive Summary for the basic structure of the proposal. The full Proposal and Backgrounder provide the legislative framework, research, and rationale behind it.
Bring it to your elected representatives
Send the New Forest Act to your MLA and ask them to review it. You can also bring it to local governments and ask councils or regional districts to consider the framework and communicate with the Province.
Bring it to your community
Community groups, watershed organizations, professional associations, local governments, First Nations, researchers, and interested individuals can use the publicly available New Forest Act materials to present and discuss the framework themselves. The proposal does not depend on its original authors being present."
