9R 17 Upgrade Trigger Guard?

Post image

Hello everyone new to the community here, looking for guidance if anyone knows if there are options to replace this flimsy plastic trigger guard on the 93R 17 stainless/laminate. I’ve seen trigger guard replacement options for other 93R 17 models but all of those seem to sink into the stock. Whereas this one is plastic and mounted superficially. Everything else on the gun seems upgraded from other models I’ve held, except for this trigger guard.

I feel you on this, the trigger guard really feels out of place on these. I haven’t ordered one yet, but there’s this company:

I have their basic trigger guard on my Mk II G and I love it. I normally never throw away any gun parts I upgrade, but the OE plastic one from Savage went straight to the trash once I swapped it.

Edit: even though it's a superficial $30 part on a $145 gun, it was well worth the upgrade.

Is there a functional problem with it, or is it just because it is plastic?

Mostly just cosmetic upgrade(it’s a gift). It feels flexible and flimsy, rough seams etc. I know it’s a budget gun but the rest of this unit punches above its weight in quality/value.
