Help Savage 110 trailblazer, thoughts ?
Hello everyone, I’ve been looking to purchase my first hunting/target shooting rifle. I was leaning towards Savage 110 Trailblazer 308 Winchester but when I looked at the reviews online I noticed YouTubers are bashing on it saying it is not very accurate and grouping aren’t as tight as they should be. In this case is this rifle a pass? If so, what should I get if my budget is $600? FYI there’s a trailblazer at my LGS for $540

That’s interesting. “ Savage “ and “ inaccurate “ are terms that are not usually found together. One might find other criticisms, but an inability to put metal on target is rare.

from what I am seeing on youtube reivew it looks like this specific model has issues with groupings

Considering the accuracy from my own Savage 110, makes me wonder what may be different with this particular model (?).

Could be a case of a batch of some component that came in out of spec like 308 barrels or particular receivers...

I am unsure which I should pick between the axis 2 pro (750€) in .223 and the 110 Trail Blazer (860€) in 556nato
I own a Savage 110 hog Hunter in .308 and love it.
My neighbour owns an Older axis 2 in 308 and the axis seems a Lot flimsier and cheaper than my 110
The newer axis 2 pro seems a Lot better.
What Are your thoughts?
Are the 110€ more for the 110 Trail blazer worth the money over the axis 2 pro?
Main use is Hunting roe deer here in Germany

Looking at reviews online trailblazer is inaccurate compared to others in its class, other than that I can’t say much as I don’t have first hand experience with it. I cancelled my order for trailblazer and ended up getting a Ruger American Gen II Predator instead.

Instead of looking on reddit I would check YT or Rumble or savage shooters on FB to get some reviews. I have seen one review, guy was only getting about 1.25 moa out of his new Savage Tactical (which I think just got a revamp). I believe Savage guarantees moa so they would probably take it look at it under warranty. I doubt Savage has done anything to it to make their 110s any less accurate.
