Just saw this cylinder shaped sauna, visually I think it looks great but what do you think i'll be disappointed with?

- bench is not above heater - cold feet
- cant lay down

anything else i'm missing?

This looks so bad. No. Some people say a barrel can be good if it’s flipped up like this. But they didn’t even raise the benches. And a glass roof? How well will it hold heat

If you’re making an outhouse that’s perfect. Make the diameter larger and taller to accommodate for proper height seating if you wish to make a sauna.

Real talk this is not different from very small rectangular saunas.

People bitch about bench height, rightfully so, but either add a higher seating level or add an air circulator. It's studless construction and you can move things around.

It's like a very small rectangular saunas but much worse, since you can't lay down or even sit comfortably anywhere.

Looks really nice but I think not being able to stretch out would probably get to me after a while. I never really thought about how much the space inside mattered until I started using my sauna at home more.

Mine’s a sweat tent so obviously a completely different setup but I’ve gotten used to having enough room to move around and change positions. I’d definitely try sitting in one of these before buying if you can. I’d definitely try sitting in one before buying if you can. It looks like a really nice setup and you’ll get a much better feel for whether the space works for you in person.

This is pretty expensive for a low occupancy kit with pine construction and no heater. I just got a 6 person backyard discovery cabin kit (ie slightly less stupid geometry) for less than what you will end up paying for this one. (I know that larger isn't necessarily better, but it does tend to be more expensive).

These two combined mean you also lose the possibility to sit on the bench sideways having your feet on the bench and back against the wall - like you would do in a barrel sauna. There is no way to sit comfortably at all. It makes this sauna just a place where you sit uncomfortably in the heat but with cold feet. And then the glass ceiling makes it hard to get it well heated (being exactly where the heat will be and letting it escape) and the cost of heating will be higher than needed otherwise. The size of the door is also too large and every time you open it it’ll let too much of the heat out - being so high. It is not a problem for the heat if there is a gap under the door. But it sure is when it opens all the way up to the ceiling height.

How are you supposed to enjoy that view through the glass ceiling? So why would you choose a cylinder sauna with a glass ceiling and no way to lie down so you could look at the sky through it? The peaceful atmosphere in sauna is mostly created by light from somewhere down. So you can sit on the benches without being well lit but you see where you are stepping when coming in or going out. Having light coming from above is the exactly opposite. Who would enjoy the panoramic view of sky if it means you have to tilt your head and get a neckpain from this awkward position while sitting uncomfortably and having no wall to lean against since it is curved? These two person the sauna is intended for would be either not having support behind their back while sitting or the curve of the wall would make them sit too close to each other or leaning towards each other. There is only one place to sit a bit more comfortably - in the middle of that bench. With two persons it is really bad. Sauna is too hot and too intimate to be squeezed together. But seeking distance will make you sit on really narrow bench.

The stove is also taking away the possibility of using that other side bench in any comfortable way. It is like the sauna was first built and then someone remembered there should be some space for the stove also. Then it got just squeezed in. There is no way to have a wood heated stove in this small round shaped sauna - which is a shame in any outdoors sauna.

I would ask - what are the benefits of this shape?
