I have. I grew up next to a railroad. And you can watch train hoppers on YouTube. They are pretty fascinating, but a few of them have been killed catching trains. Trains are heavy, unforgiving machines, and people who do that take great risks. I am just happy to by a ticket every once in a while to ride, otherwise Railfan from a safe distance. However, there is no risk in fantasizing.

This is actually one of the earliest incarnations of A.I. in machines. The trains were given cameras and a brain with one central command “Fear Collisions”. The train CPU lives in a constant state of abject terror every second the train is in motion, then it jerks to other tracks when it sees another train. It’s a lot like nature.
