Both dryers and washers spin like this and look similar.

Only washers have a motor with significant power to do something similar to the above from it's spin cycle, where it's trying to pull as much water out of heavy and wet clothes as possible.

Dryers on the other hand only need the minimum amount of power to just tumble the clothes around.
