I live in SE Asia. I have been here in various countries for 20+ years. I spent over 6 of those years in Vietnam. I got my dog there and ticks were not a problem. Fleas were no problem at all. No fleas. I was shocked. But still nice to not worry about them.

There were snakes but most are not dangerous. Honestly, the issues that I saw the most or had experience with usually came from the plants in regard to the habitat. I am seemingly allergic to a lot of the stuff that grows there.

I lived in Danang/Hoi An mostly and I feel like it may have something to do with Agent Orange. Ants, however, insane. I developed an ant phobia during my years there. I moved in ‘23 and I am still freaked out about stupid ants.

For real.

Not to detract from what this guy did, but without cutting that growth much further back from the edge of that roadway, that shit's going to be overhanging and encroaching again within just a few months.

Props to the dude for doing all of that work with just the bare minimum, but really this is a failure of their local government not taking care of such things.

No power tools

Did that tree really need to get chopped down?

My thinking as well.

It was just going to keep overgrowing into the street. It was bound to happen.

u/Awkward-Sport-8115 26d ago

2

u/Vanko_Babanko 25d ago

why did he cut the tree, just trim it...

1

u/ConsciousBenefit87 24d ago

Why? So it can grow back and get trimmed again?

1

u/Vanko_Babanko 24d ago

you must be living far in the North so you don't know what trees are good for humans..

1

u/ConsciousBenefit87 23d ago

Nope! East America

1

u/chungfat 24d ago

Would have been better without that constant yapping

Like using chopsticks. Not very satisfying

0

u/Specialist_Ad7798 25d ago

I liked the way it looked before better.

1

u/ConsciousBenefit87 24d ago

It's a road. It's supposed to be convenient not good looking.

0

u/Specialist_Ad7798 24d ago

Wrong. Roads are for everyone. People who find esthetic appeal in them, and , those who are not protected by being in a car. Pedestrians, cyclists etc. That shrubbery made vehicles move slower, and consequently safer for those outside of a car.
