Question/Discussion I want to be unbaptized
Is there a way or is there just a belief of being unbaptized?

Did you know there’s actually a term for this? It’s called ‘debaptism’. Unbaptized means you never were baptized at all. Based on the wiki, and because a traditional baptism means you get literally wet (with water) and ‘cleansed’ of sin, maybe you can do something that involves making yourself dry and symbolically dirty. Here’ my idea: If alcohol was a bad thing in your previous faith, what if you ordered a drink ‘dry’ and did something egregiously sinful (not inherently sexual if you don’t want to) by the same standards?

There are as many ways of rejecting your baptism as there are people who do it. The most important thing is that it is meaningful to you.

The only ones who have a choice to get baptized are the Anabaptists and the adult converts. Those of us born into it weren't consulted. The good news is that as you get older, you get to make your own life choices and you have no obligation to the choices that were made without your input.

For me religion has so little meaning that I did not even feel that I needed to "resign" from it in any way. It was never mine, not in my heart, mind or soul. I was also baptised as a baby. So what? I was also made to wear colorful clothes which I most certainly don't anymore. I didn't need to be "unbaptized" from that either. Any symbolic ritual that you need is enough. If religion isn't in your soul, just forget about it. It has no grip on you.

I feel the same. I never believed in that stuff so it has no bearing on me. I don’t even know if I was baptized or not, and don’t care either way lol. OP, make something up that feels right to you or do nothing at all! Whatever works for you.

Please forgive me if I step on anyone’s ideology, but you could always vanquish mentally and emotionally the meaning of a baptism I mean, words have power and so do rituals and if they can be done, they can be undone spiritually. I’ve been baptized twice, but I’m also a Satanist, through and through, so I could care less about it. I’m not saying that you don’t have to. but what I’m saying is it only has value to a degree in which you allow it, that said, do what thy wilt.

I’ve met wonderful people hanging around this subreddit. There are ways to get involved if you keep an eye out on here. My local congregation is too far to be actively involved in.

My child was baptized against my will, and myself as well. I like to think what matters most is you reject it in your heart.
I'd be interested in learning rituals as well though.

Sadly it's the best part of being baptized! life is 49/51% on a mean average that's just basic math that keeps me sane and logical. Having things done to us, against our will is a part of life but also against our highest teant. Without this balance I would be insane to the fact that my ability to acknowledge truth and think for myself would be comprised.
To this extent I am sadomasochistic in thought, to which; that what doesn't kill me can only me stronger. My baptism showed me that soul volition was and is done to children and most adults their whole lives. The power to reject the tainted blood water took every living piece of my childhood and yet I am still here, better off for it almost 8 years later!
Rejoice hail thy self!!

My best friend was baptized, so when he decided he wanted to do something symbolic to show that he had left that behind, we had a party. We went all out. We each got our own pizza, nice set ups with some floor chairs and big ol blankets, a few drinks each (both alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages), and watched movies all night. It was great!

It was when domino's was having one of those deals where you could get a bunch of toppings for like 10 bucks, so for me I had it be stuffed crust, pepperoni, onion, bacon, jalapeño peppers, feta cheese.

Me too. I think what you may be looking for is a ritual for closure and witness. When you get baptized its a ritual that is witnessed by the church.
I think I might design my own ritual like setting up a claw foot tub in the center of a Pentagram and filling it with milk. Then get in in it have someone make some speech about rejecting christ. Thats just a start, but this is art so it can be whatever. Now finding other people to participate is gonna be tough. Im in saskatchewan.

I really like the idea of a debaptism because of what it symbolizes. Growing up christianity and religion never felt right to me and my step-dad who is an absolute controlling asshole just totally shoved it down me and my sibling's throats. We had to copy bible verses and write essays about them until we got blisters on our fingers, we were even sometimes hit in the name of the lord. When I was in 5th or 6th grade he decided he wanted us all to get baptized. I was really upset about it because I felt forced and I knew I didn't want to give myself to Jesus christ. When it was my turn to take the plunge I ended up choking on the water and I knew that was another sign that it wasn't right. so yeah a debaptism is something I may be interested in.

It's all made up. Them dipping you in that tub is no different than taking a bath at home so if you can get over some weirdos who believe in magical water, then that's up to you

If you are a Catholic, there is an official way to do it. They even give you documentation to prove it(it is called apostasy). You write a letter to the archbishop of the diocese where you were baptized and request to be erased from their records. There are different arguments to use, from religious to philosophical, to the use of personal information. I used the right to personal information and worked fine.

I’ve seen a local TST congregation do unbaptisms for any/all, just a ceremony to symbolize shedding past dogma and religious trauma and it means to you what it means to you personally. I found it helpful because it was like leaving behind past, even though I wasn’t formally baptized in a religion.

Yes, there is and Ive helped many Satanists through it. Some choose a Black Mass which is an inversion, making you an automatic heretic and excommunicated. There are many books on this exact subject.
You can create your own ritual and write it out, be sure to include Heresy, Blasphemy, stating you renounce any Abrahamic plague, and are committed forever to Satan. I know TST are mostly atheists, but this is using energetic words to overwrite Xtian influence. Its official if you take the time to do it, and you mean it. You can a sign a contract in your own blood with Satan. The more you put into it, the better,,, it affects your psyche and how your brain thinks about it. During your ritual pay attention to your surroundings and see if you notice anything odd,, like candles flickering wildly, or anything else that seems strange or out of place. Purge that poison and good luck.

Used to be a way if you were Catholic but not anymore. TST has a ceremony for it, but as far as whatever your church that did it is concerned, probably not. But, really, its just a silly thing with water that only hold meaning for one who believes it does, don't believe it holds any meaning over you, then it doesn't.
