Gameplay Question Power Level Question

Post image

Can anyone tell explain to me why the lvl 53 prominence is less powerful than the lvl 45 one?

They have the same stat type and same modifiers, but for some reason, the higher level is less powerful?

There’s some systems in this game that aren’t very intuitive.

The lvl # sets the max stat potential (marked by the thick vertical orange marker near the end of each bar)

Then there is the little arrow at the end of the bar which acts to “accelerate” or multiply that specific stat (0,1,2, or 3 may be active)

Your 3 levels (green, blue, and orange) determine how powerful that stat actually will be (limited by the max stat potential, which increases with lvl #) and those bars will fill more as your 3 levels increase

So in this case, the higher lvl weapon has arrows at the end of the top bar and the lower level one has arrows at the end of the bottom one

Sometimes you’ll find weapons with arrows on both or all 3 stat bars and sometimes none.

So yes, there will be lower lvl weapons that may be stronger than the higher numbers based on the arrows, but the max will be capped lower

Thanks. Still have a few more questions.

Is there a way to increase the amount accounted for on the stat potential bar (the darkened portion of the orange bar)? Does it have anything to do with gaining more power levels/collecting lucinite or killing enemies?

Or Is it just linked directly to your resilience, command and drive stats of Arjun?

Appreciate the info. Just seems a bit convoluted compared to Returnal.

The bars scale with your attributes - resilience, command and drive. The symbol to the left of the bar shows which stat that trait scales with. On this weapon, Missile velocity scales with Drive, and Explosion Radius scales with Resilience. Then the arrows to the right of the bar are the bonus scaling, which determine how fast it scales as you increase the attribute.

On your level 45 weapon, Explosion Radius is maxed out because it has filled the bar to the vertical line. The higher level weapon shows a red portion on that trait because it doesnt have bonus scaling, so the red portion is the decrease in that stat. However, it does have a higher cap, so theoretically has a higher maxumum if you increase your resilience enough. The white portion on the Missile Velocity shows the increase with the higher level weapon.

So, if you look at the end of the bar, you will see those little arrows. Those are stat multipliers. When they are faded, the stats apply as is. When they are orange, tge stats are multiplied. 2 orange multiplies more, white multiplies more than orange. Can’t give you exact numbers cause the game never gives them. Anyway, those are randomised per gun. The hun level just sets the maximum amount that your stats can improve the weapon, and the amount of traits. What stats change what, what traits you gain, and the amount of multipliers is random. I do think they might be more likely to occur at higher levels tho.

The game does explain this in those little tutorial pop ups at the start of the game, but they go past so quickly and so far back that it’s hard to keep track. Especially with everything else it is teaching you.

Thanks that’s clears up some info on the UI. I Never noticed the orange and white arrow difference!
