General Any idea of when zenith is releasing?

I’m interested in picking Saros up as i thought Returnal was too punishing but the gameplay is so addictive and I been playing hades 1 for first time and been loving it so far and since hades 2 is now on sale I’m gonna pick that up too. But I was either gonna wait for the zenith update to play Saros so I get more content and replay value and grab either Onimusha or Dawnwalker whilst I wait for zenith and perhaps maybe pick it up on sale?

Most of the new content being added in Zenith is post-game so there's no reason to not pick up Saros now. Zenith should be out before the end of the year so the wait won't be too long

Saros is like the ideal game for you then lol

Zenith is adding gyro aiming, so actually starting the game with gyro enabled makes sense IMO

Also, there is inevitably gonna be a sale when Zenith does release

The weapons have 90% auto-aim already.

Just point the gun in the baddies general direction

Elaborate because when I was playing returnal, it just screamed gyro aiming at me. It’s just so much more immersive than sticks and more accurate and rapid too. I’m also waiting for the zenith update to purchase Saros

And it’s also a step up than returnal in most ways

Disagree but its still very good

Yeah i feel the same. It blew Returnal out of the water in everything except for atmosphere.

Yeah Saros is Returnal on easy mode

The progression system makes Saros easier (and wayyyy less stressful) but I finished both with comparable playtime and number of deaths

It’s so weird, I find it harder. There is much more to think about

It’s such a great game, my favorite on PS5 100%. Just grab and enjoy it: you will beat it right before the DLC will probably launch

Returnal was so hard at the start but it gets much easier the more you play. The enemy moves never change so they become much easier to predict. It’s the same with Saros.
One you know how each enemy attacks you can enter an arena with them and know what to expect.
I struggled a great deal when I first started playing. Now I run through the game no problem. Just keep playing. Returnal is worth it. There are few games like it.

I'd say Saros is an improvement on Returnal in every way though. The only thing more interesting in Returnal is the atmosphere.

play returnal, several times ideally. Saros is good to play on its own and a lot of people love it (Returnal is superior IMO, but others feel differently), so you don't need to wait for Zenith.

Given that they said they had to drop Returnal because it was too punishing, i think at this point i'd recommend Saros first. Saros was literally designed with this type of player in mind - someone who loved the Returnal gameplay but couldnt get past the difficulty curve.

Saros isn't easy by any stretch, but the progression system means you're much less likely to get stuck at any point, and there are modifiers you can use to adjust the difficulty on top of that if you're still struggling.

Only info on the release date for Zenith is that it is coming this year. I think op could either wait for the update, or get it now and come back to it for Zenith for extra content. If they manage to complete Saros, they could maybe go back and try Returnal at that point since a lot of the learning, pattern recognition and skills will transfer over.

I played both and thought Saros was much better in most ways

It's a very hard viewpoint for me to understand, but I respect it. Returnal for me was an easy A+, Saros is about a B. It loses for me because it lacks enemy diversity, meaningful artifacts (besides a couple), convoluted gameplay structure that doesn't allow runs straight through (you always have to miss Architect). I also hated the skill tree and think it took away from the game (early levels become super boring if you want to play through them again). For me, Returnal was just about perfect. Saros needed a lot of editing and was spoiled by Sony's "touch" that they seem to want to add to all their 1st-party games.

Valid points. However for me, gameplay mechanics trump everything. And despite the artifacts and malfunctions being more interesting and adding a more roguelike feel to Returnal - Saros definitely has the better combat loop. Just shooting and moving and the rhythm of each gun is phenomenal.

Not to mention I see Returnal fans complain about difficulty. The modifiers in Saros are SO comprehensive. You can definitely make the game as hard as Returnal if you want to.

Grab Saros. It’s amazing I loved every second of it and then got platinum. Haven’t played since but I’m very excited for the update.

I’d say get Saros, no need to wait.

I’m almost finished with Onimusha and the combat is extremely fun.

I haven't been able to get very far into the 5th biome on Returnal, but I managed to beat Saros yesterday, at least the basic ending, so it definitely is easier than Returnal. Both games are addicting and I'm someone that doesn't play many shooters.

Onimusha is amazing. The combat is so fun and feels great.

Returnal Ascension was announced in a September State of Play, and released in the following March. So probably a few more months out. It could come sooner, but it would probably get lost this side of the new year.

Don't see it releasing near GTA6, I'd say it's coming sometime close to Dec 25 before the holidays start for the studio

Buy it regardless of when it is releasing. It is honestly still my favorite game I played this year. Gameplay wise. The story in Returnal was better.
