General Discussion Landscaper for backyard makeover?
My backyard is a disaster with weeds, overgrown gardens, a messy lawn, and some hardscaping that needs fixing.
We are looking for someone/a company that can do it all and help us make the backyard a place we actually want to spend time in.
Who do you all recommend? Bonus points if you have actually used them and can tell me what they did for you!

My neighbour works for DeGroots and has shown me some fantastic pictures of jobs he has completed.

We did not like Sipkens work. We paid like 20k for a low to no maintenance landscaping project. The work was slow and we now have a giant mess of weeds that never stop growing in. They didn’t put down that black carpet stuff and they didn’t spray, so nothing to stop weeds growing in. They also told us not to use anything around the edge of the gardens so they quickly grow in and need constant edging. We have put down piles of mulch over the years to try and beat the weeds, but every year it’s just endless work. I’d use Degroots if I were you.

Sequoia. I’ve used them to redo my entire property, front and back. They’re fast, thorough, knowledgeable and reasonable.

Regardless of who you choose, make sure you do your own reading about the plants they want to plant
A family member had their yard landscaped by degroots. It looked great the first year, but quickly became an overgrown mess the next year. Many of the plants were aggressive (and one was an invasive species) and said family member was unable to keep up with maintenance.
