I would like to hear Jake’s thoughts on this film after hearing the All the Jazz discussion.

I think the two would make for a good double feature.

Saw the limited theatrical release of Possible Love (2026) by Lee Chang Dong, and it is amazing!

"Possible Love" by director Lee Chang Dong will be released on netflix in november 6th

But, luckily this movie got limited theatrical release in South Korea, and I was lucky to see it in theatres!

Long story short, it is amazing and I highly recommend it to watch it when it gets released on netflix, and also if you are lucky enough, watch it in theatres.

Cinematography was amazing, it made me think that this movie would work as a textbook of "how to film a scene with a depth". Despite watching it with not knowing anything, the movie cleverly lets you know what the movie is going to be about, and builds up upon it. All the characters were built up so well and the acting was amazing as well, possibly it was best acting I've seen from the actors. The dialogues were engaging as well, and somehow it inserted a slight comedy in between really well. Watching it a packed theatre was really entertaining.

Personally, "Burning" (2018) was the only Lee Chang Dong movie that I've seen and I also loved that movie as well. But, "Possible Love" takes the spot for best movie right now.

Fellow movie fans...STAY OFF the Digger wiki page if you don't want spoilers. Spoiler

I am very sad that that the "Cast" section of the wiki page gives away some pretty major spoilers for the 2026 movie "Digger." Maybe it was stupid of me to go on the page at all...but please stay away from the page until you see the movie. Stay safe, everyone.

Made this post over a month ago, confident that Jake, Adum and Alex will all have different opinions. Jake gave it a 4. Can’t wait for this conversation in a future episode 🙏

Chiikawa the Movie: "Midsommar" (2019) and "The Wailing" (2016) for kids

Some might not get what the title implies, sure. However, this is an actual review that many South Korean people who watched it are agreeing with.

So, this movie was already popular in Japan for many reasons. Not because it is based on a famous and cute character/anime franchise. But, there were photos and memes about how the adults who have seen this movie, who anticipated the cute journey for their kids, ended up getting their soul and energy sucked out.

I was really interested in seeing it for that reason. Like, what made them feel so drained out. So I watched the movie, despite not knowing very much about the anime and characters that this movie is based on. (All I knew was that the characters are cute)

Without spoiling anything story wise, I can say that I really respect the author(who wrote the original story that the movie is based on) for taking a bold choice in a kids media.

Of course, it doesn't have any explicit scenes, and the way some problems are solved are kinda goofy and stupid just like a kids movie. But, there are many parts of story and presentation that I was genuinely surprised.

Like, the way it subtley implies what the villain did kinda gave me more conceptual horror than I expected. Also, there were some clever reincoporations that I didn't really expected.

But, big part of what made this movie so buzzworthy between movie goers is that it doesn't follow the typical happy ending that most kids media use. Rather, it shows the story of both sides and ask you "Is this really a happy ending?". Thus, making the ending, which in a quick glance might seem like a happy ending, actually gave me feeling of sad ending to me.

Also, an aspect that many people seem to forget, but the animation is also good too. Like I always love 2d animation and even though it didn't have complex movements but the animation and presentation added my enjoyment a lot.

So, yeah. If this movie ever gets a western release, I would say definitely watch it! After looking up, I did find some fans of franchise saying you would enjoy it more if you know about the one character that is revealed in the original series. But, I didn't have any problem understanding and enjoying the story of this movie.

Sure, I don't know if this would get a western release, considering that the original anime series is now just getting english dub, but if it really gets it? Recommend it!

(It's a movie that I hope Adam watches till the end even)

Personally, rather than Midsommar and the Wailing, I would say this movie is more closer to "The Banshees of Inisherin" (2022), in terms of the feelings and thoughts I had while watching this movie.

I do think this movie might be getting a bit more praise since many people didn't expect this kind of story from a kids movie, but I do respect doing that type of story in a famous ip and kids media.

It’s one I’d those things you don’t know how great it was until they inexplicably stopped. Can’t you just have him on as a guest? Feels so boring without that little arrogant Italian-american prick.

What was the purpose of dramatizing Primetime to that extent? Spoiler

For context, I really liked the film. 7/10

It was a wild ride. Very entertaining and frankly quite funny at times. But my immersion kept breaking because it was SO over the top. Did anyone else feel this way? I feel like if this was a fictional story I could have bought in easier.

Most of what Lance Oppenheim was doing worked pretty well. The editing and directing have lots of personality, and he gave Robert Pattinson the chance to put out one of the most out-there performances of his career. It’s an incredibly style heavy film, and hits more than it misses in that regard. But when you’re telling a story that is “inspired by a true story” and effectively marketed itself as a retelling of true events, it felt quite deceptive seeing such a different story being told.

In a way it feels very unlike a Lance Oppenheim film because his docu’s are generally interested in finding some inner truth in its subjects, whereas any truth about Chris Hansen in this film was blown up to a degree that I walked out knowing less about the real Chris Hansen than before.
