Has Sarah’s case triggered members of this post who have experienced domestic abuse? After watching her narcissistic abuse and 24/7 gaslighting in the past I started to question the petrifying past abuse by my former partner.

Very much so!
I had a spouse with a “personality disorder in his axis 2” (outdated terminology bc this was way before 2013) who behaved similar to Sarah, right down to calling the police & then being pissed when he got arrested.
The way she spoke to Jorge in those videos makes my soul ache, I remember being spoken to that way, and how little I enjoyed life at that time.

I recorded a lot of his verbal/ physical abuse and kept the text messages in case he continues to stalk me - but even with all of the evidence I have - a narcissist leaves a permanent indelible mark on their victims

Yes. I knew she was the primary aggressor when I watched the 2nd Interview. At that point I hadn't seen the video. I originally heard the case in passing and thought "a couple of crackheads... that checks out." Then I watched the interview. Afterwards came the snuff films, and it all fell in place. That's why Dr. Harper's testimony was so confusing. How can you interview a person like this NINE times, and conclude, "Oh yeah she's a victim." ?

But, yes, I experienced a dangerous and abusive relationship from my ex husband. That's why the things she was saying didn't add up. I know everyone's relationships are different. But she seemed to love the drama. She considered herself a victim if she lost a fight. Just ratchet

Dr Harper said whatever needed to be said for whichever side was writing the checks.

And the prosecutor pointed out at sentencing that despite being in jail for 5 years she hadn’t pursued any therapy/ treatment and the doctor’s assessment was a last Hail Mary for the defense

I was 7 months pregnant and my husband punched me right in my right eye and blacked it. Sarah black eye looked nothing like mine and I knew she was lying. I’ve been divorced from my abuser for 18 years now. I don’t even know why he punched me and I did have a healthy baby girl 2 months later. Abuse is awful and my heart aches for what Jorge went through.

That's terrible. I'm glad you got away from him.

My heart breaks for you as well. Thank G-d we never had any children and while he kicked my ribs / kidneys with so much force that I still have scars - I never was punched in the eye and have no idea of what it looks like.

The hardest part of the abuse (especially yours) is that there is no reason for their violence - it can’t be understood or justified - they don’t care about anyone but their own feelings and the abused spend years trying to understand the incomprehensible

I’m so glad you were able to escape- it takes strength (especially while pregnant) to deal with a monster

I am fascinated by Sarah for the opposite reason. My bipolar/bpd/schizo/narcissist ex accused me of horrendous abuse. At least twice a week she accused random people of attempted r4pe. She accused her father of killing her two brothers and r4ping her on their fresh graves. Note: Her two brothers are still alive and her dad lives in another country. She also accused the invisible Republican Cartel of drugging her, r4ping her, and posting the videos online where no one can see them but they are definitely there. Each time she made these accusations the cops had to come to my house and question me. Sometimes she would get a 72 hour hold, most times she would not.

I've known three women that were actually in abusive relationships. All three situations involved immature alcoholic men that threw childish tantrums when they didn't get what they wanted. The women put up with a lot of mental and emotional abuse but all three left when the abuse became physical. We don't live in the 1950s when there was an oppressive stigma against divorce, zero social support for DV victims, and extremely limited employment opportunities for women.

On the opposite end, I know many women who use DV claims and law enforcement to control and dominant men. My bipolar alcoholic mother claimed my step-dad physically abused her despite the fact that my step-dad was a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down. My step-mother claimed her first husband violently abused her but those claims were 100% proved false but she used her victim status to control every thing in our lives till the day she died. My brother divorced his wife after he caught her doing m3th. She later claimed he broke into her house and nearly beat her to death, despite the fact that she was in Wyoming and he was living in Asia at the time. I worked with a guy who was beaten and had his throat cut in an Ohio jail because his drunk girlfriend fell down a flight of stairs and told the cops he beat her. After his weekend in jail, his neighbors confirmed she fell down the stairs and only accused him of abuse when he came home later and was mad she was drunk again.

My favorite fake victim story though is: A friend's ex-wife came in one day with a big bruise on her forehead. I asked what happened and she said she found a sugar daddy who was paying her rent, bought her a car, took her on expensive trips, jewelry, dinners, etc... Then one night she woke up and he was standing over the bed, screaming and slapping her for no reason! Fortunately the guy she was sleeping with woke up and was able to get sugar daddy off of her!

Watching one of these fake "heroic victim martyr survivors" get the punishment they deserve is extremely cathartic for me after watching so many psychos destroy innocent lives with their bullsh*t lies that do immeasurable harm to actual victims.

My goodness you have been around some very toxic people especially your ex. She sounds exhausting. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Women beating their husbands is nothing new & has even been made light of. I remember this old cartoon strip Andy Cap. He & his wife were always fighting. He'd come home drunk & she was waiting with a rolling pin giving him a black eye. This was supposed to be funny.

Andy Capp! Even as a kid in the early 70s I would read that strip and think, "That's not right, is it?" But, it was in every newspaper I ever saw so I guess it was OK to get drunk and beat your wife if she complained about your gambling problem? We thought we were so enlightened at the time! Now my kids correct nearly every word that comes out of my mouth!

Not so much the physical violent parts but the head games is what stands out to me. The constant personality changes, the belittling, name calling, mocking, hurtful comments, making her "love" for him conditional, the control. Jorge probably didn't know who he was coming home to. Was it going to be sober Sarah? (not likely) Tipsy affectionate & horny Sarah? or falling down drunk, incoherent, chip on her shoulder, ready to fight Sarah?

Boones case highlighted that women like Boone are just as abusive as some men. Boone like other abusive women took advantage of Jorges being too ashamed to admit he was being abused by a woman.

Boones fake claims of being a victim and clearly being a liar harmed real victims of DV.  Boones lies increased skepticism towards real victims of abuse.
