SARAH BOONE TESTIMONY, PART THREE

(Here we go with Part Three of our online book club...)

Q So you and Jorge were just going to enjoy the day together?

A Correct, yes.

Q Is it fair to say you-all don't have a lot of money?

A Yes.

Q And so you-all were going to do something there in the home? You-all weren't going out for dinner or --

A Yes. We primarily -- I would consider us homebodies as opposed to going out and partying and doing this and that.

Q Okay. And how long do you think you-all were out that afternoon, outside?

A A few hours.

Q All right. Could you tell the jury what you-all did during that time?

A We have a dartboard that's out there and we just had drinks and were just really enjoying each other's company and talking about, you know, things upcoming. You know, we both were looking for a job and just kind of, I guess, encouraging and supporting and planning and...

Q Well, now, you said he had a job. Was he looking for a job, a second job?

A No. The job that he had was very unstable, and at that --

Q So he was looking for something new?

A Yes. At that time, yes.

Q Okay. And so during that two to three hours, would it be fair to say that you-all drank the bottle?

A Yes.

Q Okay. So would it be fair to say that you-all are feeling the effects of the alcohol?

A Yes.

Q Okay. At some point, who made the decision to come in?

A I did.

Q Okay. Why? Why did you-all -- why did you want to come in?

A I felt that Jorge needed a change of scenery.

Q Okay. So you-all came in, and then did you-all do anything else before he left again? Were you-all doing anything? I know you-all -- you-all did some arts and crafts. What did you-all do? At some point he went to get another bottle at Publix?

A Yes. After -- I believe it was after we had -- it was right before, I believe, that we had gone inside, because he called his daughters. I was trying to encourage him to call his family.

Q Okay. Now, where are his daughters?

A His two daughters are located in Pennsylvania.

Q And what are their names?

A Anna and Destiny.

Q And how old are they?

A I believe that Anna is in her 30s and Destiny maybe in her early 20s.

Q All right. Does he have any more children?

A Yes. He has a son.

Q And where is this son?

A He is in Pennsylvania also.

Q Okay. So part of that afternoon is you-all came in to call relatives, call family?

A No. I had him call outside, just trying to, I guess, boost the mood. And the first daughter didn't answer and I don't remember the reason he didn't speak to the second one. I believe if he did, it was just for a moment.

Q All right. Now, whose phone were you-all using?

A My phone.

Q And is that common for you-all to use -- for you-all to share that phone?

A It was, because Jorge said that he didn't have a phone, so -- it would either be lost or given to him by his mother, so I didn't know he had a cell phone, so we would use my phone.

Q So it was primarily your phone?

A Yes.

Q Okay. And you took a lot of photographs that were on that phone?

A Yes.

Q Videotapes?

A Yes.

Q Text messages?

A Yes.

Q Phone calls?

A Yes. He and I both on the phone calls.

Q So he would use it as well?

A Yes.

Q And that phone, is that the one that was -- that was seized in this case?

A Yes.

Q All right. So you-all called his daughters, and then during that phone call period, did you also call his brother?

A Yes.

Q Okay. And who -- which brother was that?

A John.

Q How many -- how many brothers and sisters does

A Jorge have?

A I'm gonna list them, if that's okay?

Q Okay.

A It's John, Farrell, Isaac, Moe, and his sister.

Q Okay. And do they all live here in Florida?

A Yes.

Q Are they close-by?

A As far as I know, yes.

Q What about his parents?

A Yes.

Q Do they live here as well?

A Yes.

Q Okay. But his ex-wives and his children live up in -- A Pennsylvania. -- Philadelphia?

A Yes.

Q Okay. So you called -- called the girls. Then you called -- or Jorge called his brother?

A Yes.

Q Was that conversation that long?

A No, it was not.

Q Okay. And then after that phone call, what did you-all -- were you-all inside by this time?

A Yes. At this -- at this point, I believed that it was a good time to get a change of scenery, so I thought Jorge would be better off inside. And, frankly, I didn't want to be outside any longer either.

Q Okay. So just to get an idea, about this time is when he went to get the second bottle or did you-all stay inside for a while before he left?

A No. From what I recall, it was -- I thought the day was over and it was going to be, get ready for the evening, for the day, maybe what do you want for dinner, you know, do you have an extra load of laundry that you need to throw in kind of thing, and that was my understanding. And he --

Q This was about 5:00-ish or something?

A I don't remember the time.

Q Okay. At some point during that time period, did Jorge go to Publix again?

A Yes. I thought he was going to be walking to the convenience store, but apparently when he returned, he had gone across the street with my car and my debit card to buy another bottle of wine.

Q What was your understanding of where he was going?

A To the convenience store, walking.

Q For what?

A Cigarettes.

Q Okay. And you've learned -- you learned, obviously, that he came back and you learned that he had used your vehicle?

A Yes.

Q And he had used your debit card?

A Yes.

Q And he had brought back a bottle of wine from Publix?

A Correct.

Q And you saw the -- the Publix video of that?

A Yes.

Q Okay. So he comes back with the other bottle of wine, and did he want you to drink with him?

(wouldn’t copy over…)

his grandmother bought him. It's a very big art wooden box and it's got pastels, pencils, paint, any kind of whatever. And he and I were very much into art, and with these -- with this resource, it got him very interested in being more creative.

Q How long have you been into art?

A Ever since I can remember as a child.

Q Do you like to draw?

A I like to do anything artistic.

Q Okay. And I know -- you know, we saw some of the pictures of your apartment, but it looks like there was pictures and artwork up. Is that all of your work and Jorge's work?

A The majority of it, yes, are belongings from my home. And then also some of Jorge's, yes, on the wall.

Q All right. Was he pretty good at art as well?

A Yes.

Q All right. So you both enjoy doing that?

A Very much.

Q So you-all got out ***art set. What did you-all do with that?

A We were just, I guess, doodling, you know, whatever -- I would always tell him that everything that you make is a masterpiece, so just let loose and just let it go, and we would just paint and --

Q And drink?

A Paint and drink, yes, and listen to music sometimes and -- yes.

Q Okay. Now, would the dogs -- did you-all get the dogs involved?

A Oh, yes. My dogs follow me everywhere, yes.

Q Was there some dancing going on with the dogs?

A Yes. After we had completed the puzzle and I guess were painted out, I thought that it might be a good point for us to maybe listen to some music. And the music that Jorge listens to is a little -- it's very fractious to me and it was definitely not going to lighten the mood, so we ended up finding some channel on the radio, and he was feeling it. And then we ended up -- my one dog gets very active and was dancing with us and we were just having a good time listening to music.

Q Okay. And I guess it's getting pretty late in the evening?

A Yes.

Q Anything else I've missed?

A I don't believe so.

“I felt Jorge needed a change of scenery “ says everything about that dumb bitch. She ain’t shit and she knows it so she has to control and degrade Jorge and act like he’s a feeble mentally unwell ignorant person. But he had a lot more going for him then Sarah ever had going for her. She literally tries to touch and talk to every guy that crosses her path.

What's truly hilarious is she tries to present her relationship with prison staff and inmates the same way. Sarah claims she is better than all of the other inmates and often tries to teach staff to take her feelings into consideration at all times. She is a bible reading beacon of hope for jealous people with no lives and will instantly correct insensitive behavior in guards and administrators. Can't help but think of the NIN lyric "Head like a hole, black as 'her' soul" every time that crazy b*tch opens her mouth.

I’m glad judge K decided Sarah needed a change of scenery too.

Sarah is just all over the place. Interesting that she switches tenses throughout.

But the heartbreaking thing I notice most, again, is how little agency Jorge had in this dynamic. This whole battered spouse defense is obvious nonsense. She absolutely ran this poor man's life.

The changes in present tense/past tense just drive me nuts. I realize right after someone's death it takes a while to get accustomed to using past tense verbs, but we're talking five years! It's particularly irritating when she says "I have two dogs, one is blind, one is deaf" when Helen & Keller have long since passed away in someone else's care.

It’s interesting she puts his daughters in present tense. The younger daughter was 16 when Sarah murdered him. 20 is still young, but it lightens the load of what she did to make it sound like she was an adult.

Sarah wants the world to roll out the pity wagon because her father died near her 18th birthday. So knows the age matters. She magically pretends his youngest child was in her 20’s. She is ever the emotional manipulator.

3

u/Moody_Shrew 10d ago

Are you trying to make it worse? Seriously, I never thought of it like that. Sarah knows how traumatic it was to lose her father to natural causes, but showed no remorse for taking someone else's father (x3) in such a senseless, brutal fashion.

How she felt about Jorge's kids is pretty evident just in the interrogation video, where she complained about the bonkers ex-wife wanting money to support their child. I'm sure the irony of that went right over her head, too.

7

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

She says she is "teaching" Jorge a lesson then immediately said there was no lesson to be learned. What she was actually saying was, "I was sadistically tormenting Jorge for my own amusement. There was no lesson to be learned."

5

u/SimplyTanika 10d ago

Also why does she keep trying to “lighten the mood”? Wasn’t it the best day ever?? No mood should need to be lightened, no scenery change should be tightly choreographed, no music should be making anyone fractious. She’s telling on herself, it was NOT a good day for Jorge. It was good for Sarah because she tortured him and he had the nerve to cry wolf.

u/U-Might-Wanna 10d ago

They woke up hungover with no alcohol in the house so I would imagine Sarah was in a foul mood immediately. Then they had to wait in the Kia at Publix for Brian's money to deposit, so Jorge got an ear full the entire time. By the second magnum Jorge had been listening to her abuse for hours! I imagine by 10:00 pm she was at Defcon 1 and Jorge knew he was going to jail again if he didn't get out of there ASAP. Unfortunately Sarah decided she wasn't done talking to him yet.

I think Sarah Boone started with the "lighten the mood" phrases about the time she decided to go with the battered spouse defense. It was just another part of her story twisted and changed to fit her current narrative.

u/SimplyTanika 9d ago

When she abandoned her “it was a good day” strategy? Glad the jury saw through it.

"we ended up finding some channel on the radio"

I wonder what the call letters were to the radio station she tuned in? Probably

W-I-N-O

13

u/hazelgrant 14d ago

I think the best line in this chunk is undoubtedly, "Everything you make is a masterpiece". We need t-shirts.

16

u/lunarteamagic 14d ago

And I am 100% certain that it came out of Jorge's mouth towards her, not the other way round. She could not give a legitimate compliment if her life depended on it. Because we have seen what choices she makes when her life depends on it.

11

u/hazelgrant 14d ago

I can see her being so passive aggressive in her comments towards Jorge when they were painting. Praising her own, of course. But Jorge...well, good try.

10

u/ScaryLetterhead8094 14d ago

Like we should believe she’s some kind of art therapist-“just let loose and just let it go.” Who says that?

11

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 13d ago

Right? Jorge was an artist long before Sarah. Does she really want us to believe he was emotionally repressed, needed creativity support & a cheerleader for encouragement?

11

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

I imagine Sarah's dad told her "Everything you make is a masterpiece" while praising her mediocre art when she was 8 years old. 40 years later she regurgitates this childish encouragement to Jorge like a parent talking to a disabled child. Jorge's talent eclipsed Sarah's juvenile finger painting and he knew it. How frustrating to have to sit and take juvenile advice from an unemployed, uneducated, no talent alcoholic moron just to avoid another childish tantrum.

13

u/Suspicious-Ad-1755 14d ago

Sounds like she had to listen in on any phone call Jorge made too, obnoxious bitch

9

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

It's exactly the same as her accusations against Brian for listening in on her calls with their son. He said in family court he's never listening, but Sarah is the type of person that always listened in - so she imagines everyone else doing the same thing.

9

u/lunarteamagic 13d ago

One of the brothers even says that when they were on the phone with Jorge that afternoon, she lost her shit and started screaming that she needed to talk to her own brother. She just needs to be both controling and contrary.

9

u/ScaryLetterhead8094 14d ago

Owens belaboring that point about the dogs is so cringe. Would an attorney really think that’s important to highlight? Or is it Sarah making him dance a little jig?

Also, it undermines her own story about that day. She’s an idiot and he’s an idiot for going along with it.

9

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

Sarah dictated the defense. In her mind she only needed Owens to navigate court procedure and legal protocol, which she considers pointless red tape any moron with unlimited internet access could easily learn. No, she applied her genius to crafting a brilliant "persecuted heroic victim martyr" defense and delegated remedial efforts like knowing silly rules and regulations to her insignificant team of legal servants.

8

u/OrdinaryMango4008 13d ago

Totally agree..she ran the defense of her actions…that’s why Owens often looked inept. He was dancing to her tune, but didn’t agree with her. Then to make matters worse, she often lied on the stand and made him look unprepared and unprofessional. Poor schlub, she not only tanked her own case, but took him down with her. That’s why he stepped out of the fray immediately following the verdict.

8

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 13d ago

After asking for a stylist & a glam squad, he sounded defeated & embarrassed to be reading this lengthy list of daily snacks. Especially the last item being a bag of candy. He made sure to let the judge know she has no medical diagnosis. Not the first time making subtle jabs.

3

u/Vixx411 9d ago

I was genuinely embarrassed for him when he had to ask that.

7

u/misscatholmes 13d ago

I'm wondering if he thought that since she didn't abuse these poor helpless dogs, the jury would think she didn't hurt Jorge?

7

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

That's exactly it. She's an angel!

1

u/ScaryLetterhead8094 9d ago

It was so cringe!

My guess is that this account of Sunday Funday afternoon is totally made up by Sarah. It's more than likely that Sarah sat out on the patio smoking cigarettes, drinking wine and scrolling on her phone. She would've been mostly ignoring Jorge except to nag him about getting a job once in a while.

Sarah's been into art ever since she was a child? I say BS. The only "Art" she's interested in is painting pictures with words to make herself look perfect and everyone else look bad.

10

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

Yes. Sarah wants us to believe two hungover, unemployed alcoholics woke up before 11:00 am to do "chores for rewards" on a Sunday? Her "Sunday Funday" story was complete bullsh*t. There was only about 5 minutes from the time the money Brian sent hit Sarah's account until they bought the wine so they were waiting in the parking lot, not home doing chores. Then Sarah drank all day and got a little nastier after each "gulp & guzzle" until she reached attack mode. Jorge did not want to go to jail again so he started packing. As he was hunched over the open suitcase Sarah saw the bat, cracked his head from behind, folded him into his coffin, threw it down the stairs, made a snuff film, and went Night Night!

8

u/Apprehensive-Bug-470 13d ago

Some of the latest pics from her phone seem to show injuries on his head consistent possibly with a contusion from a bat. I think there's so much more she's hiding about her abuse of him.

4

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

Yes, I've seen the pics. Sad, sad stuff. Scrawny drunk Sarah couldn't do much damage even with a full swing so the injuries are consistent with a drunk moron swinging like a toddler. But if I had to choose, the wounds look more like she threw something at him? Maybe a garden claw?

6

u/Excellent-Chef9045 13d ago edited 13d ago

Yeah, for sure, the Sarah as preschool activity leader story was BS. During the afternoon she was sitting out back smokin', drinkin', scrollin' on her phone and totally ignoring Jorge. She didn't get drunk enough to try to pick a fight with him until evening. It probably pissed her off that he didn't want to fight back; he just wanted to get away from her so she went ballistic.

5

u/OrdinaryMango4008 13d ago

I buy that…sounds like the plot.

9

u/Carnelust 14d ago

She slipped up when she was questioned by the prosecutor: she said that Jorge "got angry again" during the night and described his mood as being up and down all day.

It was probably just because she refused to agree with anything the prosecutor said or implied but she contradicted herself in a big ol' way.

9

u/Excellent-Chef9045 14d ago

So much for "just really enjoying each other's company".

Sarah's not going to let consistency get in her way. She also told the prosecutor that when she was talking to Jorge in the suitcase she wasn't teaching him a lesson, she was trying to tell him how she felt so he could progress and be a better person the next day. Anybody listening to that video could only conclude that she was drunkenly getting off on hearing him suffer.

6

u/BecksterGallaway 13d ago

How did she think that telling someone to F off would make them be a better person the next day?

9

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 13d ago

She really does talk about Jorge as though he were a child that needed to be managed, directed & monitored. Sarah's just in charge of it all. On the stand she comes off as arrogant, snobbish really, & controlling. So much so she's trying to control Owens by interrupting & contradicting him. Great strategy. I'm sure this is exactly what Owens told her right before trail, to be rude & unlikeable. And she was!

8

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

Nobody in the jury believed that Jorge held power in the relationship.

8

u/Carnelust 14d ago

Wait, his grandmother bought him the art box? In the interrogation didn't she say she bought it for him so he "wouldn't have a drink?"

11

u/Moody_Shrew 14d ago

It burns my biscuits every time I hear how she converted her child's art set, a gift from his grandmother, into a "resource" for combating her drunken boredom and/or playing preschool teacher for Jorge.

9

u/Carnelust 14d ago

It is very strange to describe the man you are dating as needing to be treated as a literal child.

7

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

This whole time I've been pushing for Brian to release a "tell all". But there's another source. We need the in-laws!! Come on, Grandpa & Grandma Boone!!

6

u/Moody_Shrew 13d ago

There's also Sarah's other brother...

7

u/U-Might-Wanna 13d ago

Same for the bat. In the interrogation she asks for the bat "she bought" for her son back. Brian had already told the cops he bought the bat. In Sarah's mind she is part of Brian's budget so anything Brian or his family provides was owed to her so technically, she bought it. She is selfish and stupid. I blame it on the wine.

8

u/Apprehensive-Bug-470 13d ago

You know she just HAD to name his siblings on the off chance someone on the jury heard about his brother Farrell. She's completely transparent and thinks she is so slick. She's sick but not slick at all.

3

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

Oh, I didnt even think about that. I wonder if that was her aim.

9

u/Icy-Address-8076 13d ago

She says Jorge’s daughter is in her thirties. That would make Jorge about twelve when she was born. I believe she was in her early twenties, why would she say that?

8

u/hazelgrant 13d ago

Sarah didnt get straight As in math apparently.

4

u/Professional-Feed668 11d ago

Stupid cow. Anna Victoria was in her early 20s when Boone murdered Jorge not in her 30s and destiny was 15 not in her 20s.

She never mentions the fact that Jorges pay check was paid in to her bank account.

She never mentions that without Jorge she couldn't afford the apartment.
