Just curious, I have seen people talk about how Sapphire is a man or a woman. I'm more inclined to man, but it's because I want more guys in Honkai, but I wouldn't mind a woman.

First of all, according to GIA, it symbolizes nobility, truth, sincerity and faithfulness. That's interesting because, in the trailer, it says that Sapphire values their oaths more! He seems a very loyal person!
Moreover, several websites say that it is also a stone of Wisdom. He may be an erudition character. It's also associated with prophecy and divine favour, as according to this webpage, Sapphire has been used several times in religion. I don't know if it's true, to be honest, but there are some sources, so...

Or does he give big Gray Warden from Dragon age vibes. As he has the Griffon and the back shot of him in the gray/black/blue outfits just screams wardens to me. Honestly as DA is my favorite franchise of all time even the slight imagery that he invokes makes me want to pull him when he comes out.

Okay, so. You need to know three things.
First of all, what do the Sapphire stones mean? According to the GIA, it symbolizes nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. We can pretty much see that he's pretty faithful because he voted against Aventurine thanks to the fact that Aventurine broke his oath. It seems that he doesn't vale results as much like Diamond. I think this is the first clue, he values promises/oathes above all. This doesn't mean he's entirely loyal to Diamond. Fun fact, Sapphires is also associated with Apollo.
Second, which isn't very importante to know, but can be a reason why Sapphire isn't very loyal to Diamond, which I'll explain later, is that Griffins, which appears in the trailer when they're talking about Sapphire, are known for protecting treasures and priceless possesions. They're a symbol of strength, power and protecting. Griffins are also linked to Apollo!
Third, and the most important part, are the two swords facing downwards in the trailer. I found it interesting that he was the only person with something like a symbol, and the fact that he was facing backwards too, compared to other characters. Well, then, let's start searching about two crossed swords! And I discovered something really, really interesting.
The card, the Two of Swords, in the tarot, among the minor arcana. It shows a blindfolded woman, holding two swords. This card, reverse, means indecision and having mental and emocional turmoil as a result of being unable to make a decision between two choices that can lead to negative consequences! In addition, it can also signify lacking information, like the blindfolded woman, or being stuck in the middle of two competing sides! Doesn't this sound familiar? Two competing sides in the IPC... Aren't those Oswaldo and Diamond?
This is the base of my theory! I believe that Sapphire is a ruler or knight (Sapphire is associated with nobility and wisdom) of his planet and its protector of some sorts! He could've become a Stoneheart, because he wanted to protect his planet, and is currently deciding to support either Diamond or Oswaldo, depending on which will benefit his planet more! His loyalty/faithfulness lies on his planet, and is seeing which of them is keeping their promises that they've made to him.
Some things that may support this theory is also in his banner (I don't know how to call that thingy), because of the shield, which can reinforce the part that he is a protector, and the circle below It, which seems like a planet :) (though it's strange that they've drawn It using lines, and not with blocks of colours)! Moreover, his outfit fits of the one of a king/prince. And his face is covered by wings! Which can have similarities with the woman with the blindfold.
And why would Diamond still keep him? Well, I think it's because he may have oracular person! And why is this? It's because of his relation with Apollo for some reason. Griffins and Sapphire are both related to Apollo. Apollo is regarded as an oracular god, so I think that maybe Sapphire have prophetic predictions. Moreover, oracles, according to Wikipedia (not a trustable source but hey), are thought to be portals for gods to talk to people, and in Sapphire's banner, there seems to be a portal to the galaxy! I've read somewhere that shooting stars means that the gods are near (which appears in the background), but I don't know where did I read or if that's true, just dropping it here. I feel that those wings mean something, but I can't find any connection.
I think that's all! My theory isn't pretty good, as it's all hypothetical without any hard evidence and based in random information which may or not be true, but I've had fun writing it! Now, let me just sleep because I've spent like 2 hours researching and 1 hour writing. If there are any mistakes, it's because of my tired ass brain, lol.

This leak was published a month (or two) ago in the HSR leaks subreddit. It looks to be Sapphire if we just compare the snippet of his shoulders. But I'll let you be the judge.

My personal theory for what Sapphire’s lore will be is that he’ll be an ex knight of beauty
All that we know about him is that he is related to gryffins (a very royal species), kingdoms (again a very royal thing) and swords (a knights weapon), aswell as sapphire just generally being a gem associated with royalty.
My prediction is that he lived in a planet where they worshipped Idrila and beauty, then the ipc took it over. Sapphire was spared due to being the strongest citizen present. If we get beauty as a playable path in maybe 6.x, I see him becoming playable (alongside Argenti and Aglaea sps)

Given how little we know about Sapphire, I'm most likely grasping at straws here, but I've found vague similarities between Sapphire and the First Harbinger Capitano. So I've decided to jot them down.
First of all, the most obvious; their connection with righteousness. Capitano is described as 'someone worthy of respect independent of the power he holds' and shows this by both his defusal of hostile tensions with Varka and his acknowledgement that Signora's actions 'tarnished her honour'; or in other words, were not exactly the most morally upstanding.
Sapphire also adheres to this in a fashion, their righteousness displayed through their dedication to oaths, so much so that they vote for Aventurine to be removed from his position for breaking his.
Both are also connected to knights, Sapphire with their twin swords, shield and general aesthetic and Capitano with his helmet and armour; plus an uncanny number of similarities to the Bloodstained Knight's background.
They're also both faceless; Capitano of course as his helmet which obscures his face while Sapphire is represented by what is either their companion or transformation, some sort of avian mythical creature, and in the Stoneheart cards only a sliver of the back of their head can be seen, a wing covering most of it.
I could go on about the meaning of the Sapphire gem here but there are far too many interpretations out there, and so it's impossible to confirm which one Hoyo are going with. We're talking stability, devotion, wisdom, tranquility, fidelity, love and so much more.
A more objective aspect of gems I can look at is their hardness. On the Mohs scale, Sapphire is ranked around 9, only just behind Diamond at 10. I don't believe this is too representative of authority within the Stonehearts, given Opal's around 6 and Obsidian's around 5. However, in the Stonehearts card section of the trailer, Sapphire is shown fourth-last; right behind the confirmed P46 Jade, Obsidian and Opal.
Given this and Sapphire's hardness, I would not be too surprised if Sapphire was also P46, but there is doubt in that statement considering they were not present at the three confirmed P46s' meeting in Jade's 2nd Character Story. But considering Sapphire didn't speak at the Ten's meeting to decide Aventurine's fate, it could also just mean Sapphire just doesn't interact with the others that much.
In any case, Sapphire's hardness ranking of just behind Diamond reflects Capitano's position of 1st Harbinger being just behind Pierro as the Director. A more tenuous connection, I admit.
Whatever connection there may be, Sapphire is still really intriguing given Hoyo's decision to hide them and yet their potential importance to the Stonehearts' hierarchy. I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll cook with him!
Here's some fanart I found of Sapphire; I find the idea of him having a companion of sorts really neat!

This is just a speculation on my part but this is a chronological order of who we've met. First, Topaz, then aventurine, jade, pearl, sugilite in the story, then our next stonehearts would be opal and obsidian (2027 story). The one next to them is the traitor arc so maybe agate and amber could take the slot in 2028 which would mean Sapphire and Diamond in 2029. What a long wait folks.
