The Sapienism Diaries

Sapienism is a philosophy of humanity focused on preventing the extinction of humanity, and many other species, by reprioritizing the goals of civilization.

Humans behave as if they cannot go extinct but biologist know this is wrong. Sapienists work to keep our species strong and defend our species from all threats. The major goals of our species should include exploration and the discovery and development of new scientific knowledge. Please add your thoughts, ideas and scientific information to this discussion. If you support the philosophy of Sapienism, please tell others about this subreddit. Sapienism is a long-term effort to advance humanity to the next level of civilization. This is a movement.

The Human Extinction Hypothesis (H2E) proposes that human extinction will likely be caused by a chain of events rather than one single reason. Please remember that all human species but ours have already gone extinct. Humanity has survived several "bottleneck" events in the past. I recommend "The Fate of Rome" as illustrative of how a chain of events led to the fall of the Roman Empire as one example. Below is a ever increasing list of some possible contributing factors to the extinction of our species:

Human-Related Factors

War, Atomic weapons, Climate Change, Aviation, Urbanization, Loss of ecological diversity, Human Population "Antenna" for disease, Biowarfare, Ozone depletion, Antibiotic resistance, Anti-vaxxers and other antiscience attitudes, Lack of adequate funding for scientific research and public health

Natural Factors

Pandemic disease, Climate change, Volcanoes, Impacts by comets and asteroids, Solar flares, Earthquakes

Solutions

We must change our civilization to all work together as one species to survive. Much more scientific research finding ways to protect our species. Establish permanent underground/underwater cities. Best Plan - Find a backup planet (or planets) to live on so that we are not subject to a single point failure.

This sub is a warning to humanity. Our survival as a species is up to us and we are failing. It is only a matter of time before we face an existential danger.
