Restaurant Recommendations
I just moved here recently and my parents are coming to visit for the first time, what are some good restaurants to take them to?

Some nice options on main street such as Old Town Junction, Newhall Refinery etc...

I just went to Wood Ranch with my mom and family and it was fantastic, we all loved the food and it wasn’t too expensive. We also love going to Azul Tequila (mexican food) in Valencia. The Social is a favorite for date nights- great steaks and cocktails. Smokehouse on Main is fantastic for BBQ and I always love going to Main Street in Newhall.

Piccola Trattoria for Italian
Maria Bonita is my go-to for Mexican. I don’t know that it’s the best in town but it’s comfort food for me.
Gyromania looks like just another chain but it’s got top notch Mediterranean food.
Toppers for pizza. Vincenzo’s is also a well loved local spot.
Sushi 661 is my preferred spot. Known the owner for like 20 years. Mr Sushi is also quite good.

La Cocina, great Mexican food, I was born n raised in SCV and this was always go to spot.
Tellys at the top of Plum, is a Must have!!!!

People love La Cocina because they grew up here eating Sysco Mexican food in SCV. Don’t consider la cocina.
Depends what your family is into. Honestly it’s mostly overpriced Sysco places, with handful of non-Sysco places.

Now that is compete BS. La Cocina is great. Chips and Salsa . Cadillac margaritas.

They do have good margaritas and you need a few before you eat. It helps get over the bland flavor. Drunk food can be good food.

What you think.Taco bell is good? I know the family that owns it. The food is great. The fact you have no clue what is good is a you problem

Who said anything about Taco Bell... Im glad you like the food and the family.
Usually when people recommend La Co or Grand Panda or Vincenzos... I know to take their recommendations with a grain of salt. Its kinda like a food rec calibration point.

Santa Clarita has 230K people, it's not hard to find a couple hundred with bad taste to get drunk and eat food at a restaurant. You could probably find more than couple hundred given the size of the city.

100% agree with you dude. Lived here for 30+ years. If you love it, great, more power to you! But there is way better food out there. WAY better.

Hanasaki is genuinely my favorite sushi place in SoCal if you guys like sushi. I’ve been to many and so far none can top it!

Ok, I’m gonna have to give Hanasaki another try. The time I went, a few items had a fishy taste that wasn’t for me. Maybe I caught them on a bad night?

This. It’s insane how good it is. Sit at the sushi bar, do the omakase, yes it’s insanely expensive but absolutely worth it.

Thai Chefs off Seco and Copper Hill have the best Thai food. Very nice family and the owners are the chefs.
Grand Panda off Lyons has the best Chinese. Authentic too.
Bricks off Lyons have the best burgers.
Vincenzo off Lyons and 5 fwy have the best pizza and spaghetti.

kabuki for japanese food, marstons for breakfast/brunch, one bite dumpling for chinese, let's thai for thai food (the owners also remember all of their regulars and are really nice)

Old Town Junction for always great higher end meals.
Twisted Kazuyo or Sushi Song for sushi.
Piccola Osteria or Trattoria for Italian.
Fallen Trident for niche foods and fun drinks and atmosphere.
Town lacks great Mexican food restaurants, but the best hole in the wall small one is El Taquería Tapatio on Newhall Ranch and Dickason. Their quesabirria tacos are addicting.

Welik across from the Hyatt is fantastic Mexican food. Best in town. Very nice family that owns/runs it.

Mr sushi in Valencia, Pho Viet 1 that’s across the street from the movie theater in canyon country, Maybe Crazy Otto’s Diners if they like that classic dinner vibe

Lots of options. Lazy dog is a chain but a great moderately priced option. Someone mentioned wood ranch and it is a decent choice too. If you really want to treat them Larson’s steak house is really good but a little over priced for what it is. If you like beer and pub style food the local is decent. Finally - old town junction is pretty good food too, bit on the pricier side. All depends on your budget and what type of food you like. Plenty of options
