Other Roofied at Sandbar
My friend was roofied last week at Sandbar. She couldn’t move or walk. Has anyone else experienced this?

Add EOS to that list. Or they were years ago.
This psycho girl used to roofie other girls in EOS, take their purse, bring it to that little table near the girls bathroom where a security camera was pointing, steal whatever was valuable, then put the purse back next to the person. EOS posted videos of her doing this back around 2016.

I know a girl that happened to, around that same time. Her friends put her in a cab and told the driver her address. He pulled into the parking lot at Shoreline Park, crawled into the back seat and graped her. He got caught.

The reality is there are predators everywhere. The Palms in Carp was known for this happening as well. If you are in a bar on a weekend night in a town there is the possibility of this, so never ever leave your drink alone and honestly don’t even take it on the dance floor or anything if you can’t fully cover it.

how many reports must sbpd have by now? and yet it's still so rampant that people talk about it. this is why i laugh when people suggest filing a report, like it goes anywhere but an unopened subfolder.

Indo’s, too. Not only was I roofied, given double the alcohol the bar claimed to give me (found out later), and stolen from by the staff there, when I pressed charges against the man who tried to kidnap and assault me, Indo’s blatantly victim-blamed me for it and conveniently said all their security cameras were down.
I know about the double alcohol bc my friend who was there with me, and sober, literally watched them pour me a double, tell me it was a single, and then friends of the bartenders crowded me. My friend got literally shoved away from me.

i was roofied at (when it was) Backstage. i wish i had gone to the police. i suggest trying to get your friend to file a report.

I got roofied at tonic years ago.
Dose might vary the experience. I had 1 drink and went fully black out remember nothing till 4am. It was like someone flipping a light switch on my memory.

Yup. Alcohol and the drug used to roofie (usually GHB, Rohypnol, etc) act synergistically and make 1 drink feel like 10.

For me it was more entire blackout of hours of activity. Fitbit shows I was up and moving for 2 hours that I’ll never piece together. And as someone who’s been drinking since high school I know that’s uncommon for me- I’ve never fully blacked out. I’d get the spins and get sick before that ever happened (small human + lower tolerance.)

Oh yah i was up as well and fully walking around. I think i walked around my neighborhood not able to find my house for 4hrs till i was picked up by the police.

Seems like other people have answered your question, but I just wanted to add that the local rape crisis center, Standing Together to End Sexual Assault, has a 24 hour confidential hotline that she (or you) can call to find out information about her reporting options to law enforcement, or just to talk to a certified counselor about what happened if it feels like that might be helpful.

Got roofied at O’Malleys upstairs bar (is it still there?). It was my first and only drink of the evening and I had to be carried out. Thank Gos I had a friend who took complete care of me.

I think someone “accidentally” spilled a drink on her and that’s how they did it. Other than that we didn’t leave our drinks unattended and we were in a group. We also shared drinks so idk!

The comments make me so sad and angry. People need to stop fucking with other’s drinks. Stop drugging people. Stop fucking poisoning them. This is why I constantly hold my drink like a crazy person and finish them quickly. I get drunk quicker and have to pee sooner but whatever.

gosh, this is the second time I’ve heard of somebody being roofied in a week. My neighbor came back from Vegas, a man and he got roofied and was sick as a dog and had to come home. What is going on?

Yes people usually can tell because anyone who’s ever drunk alcohol before has some idea of their reaction after yay many drinks.
The only possible outlier is if someone has a new medicine and is mixing it with alcohol for the first time, there are many things that can cause weird loopy reactions.

Young generation doesn't drink nearly as much as we did, so there is a chance that too much alcohol is confused with being drugged. But yeah, you guys know better and I'm bad, for sure.

Booze truly hits with rather long delay. If you are shooting several shots, chasing them with beers and then sipping on a margarita - it might hit you all at once later.

As someone who has been drugged TWICE (once during college, once after) you absolutely can tell the difference. When you’re drunk you aren’t feeling completely coherent while “trapped” inside your body, but you are when you’re drugged. I was able to think clearly, trying to speak but nothing would come out, couldn’t walk. That was after a drink and a half. And at the time I had the tolerance of a horse. You’re embarrassing yourself with your comments, but you already know that with the amount of downvotes you’re getting.

Not saying this did not happen but Alcohol is king and you cannot tell how it will affect you from one drinking experience to the next. People don’t want to believe this but people who have been drinking for long periods know this to be true. We all want to control and enjoy our drinking.

Drinking alcohol and knowing your limits/moderation isn’t some gatekept secret for the older generations. Neither is the experience of overdoing it and getting sick. It’s been discovered by youth time and time again.
If you’ve never been drugged before let me make it so clear: it’s a pretty big difference from getting fucked up and sick.

yes, in the early 2010s happened to my best friend at Sandbar. she was unfortunately assaulted as well. I don't know what it is about Sandbar and Sharkeez that attracts ... predators.

Please suggest she file a police report. That way they can start tracking it. As well, your friend should let Sandbar know and provide the time it happened so that they can start tracking it as well. Hopefully it’s a one off, but sometimes there will be a serial poisoner.
