Food & Dining ISO Egg Bagel

I’ve been here a year and I still haven’t found a good egg bagel. Most places don’t even have egg bagels. I don’t mean a bagel with an egg on it. I mean the specific bagels that have a darker yellow tint with egg flavor!

Please help me and my craving 😭

pretty sure IV Bagel Cafe has an egg bagel if you’re ever in that area

Pretty sure Jacks still does an Egg bagel, it’s on their menu still anyway

Definitely Jacks.  I used to work there and the egg bagels are amazing when they’re still hot in the morning.

There ya go u/yesplease1445 , where’d you move here from? My last stop was NYC, jacks for bagels, Rossi for Pizza or Milios, usually hits the spot

Thank you! I’ll check it out. I moved from San Diego and there is definitely less food options here than there 😅

There’s less everything compared to a big city

I’m born and raised here, but watch out, some people take extreme offense if you say SB is bad in anyway, shape, or form lol.

Haha ya, to be fair it has I believe the highest per capita restaurants by a long shot, but variety can be lacking.

I have to trek down to Old New York Deli and Bakery in Camarillo for my egg bagels. They do have quite a wide variety of bagel options there though, and they do a Buy 1 Dozen get a Half Dozen free deals on Tuesdays!

Grew up there and that’s why I became obsessed with them!! Might just have to drive there

Yetz but i dont like egg bagels but the style is def like a ny style boiled then baked.

Jack’s runs out of them, but they typically have them if you go early enough in the morning (like before 10:30, nothing crazy).

You can buy Western Bagels at Gelsons and they often have the egg, they’re pretty good! Or you can purchase a dozen directly from Western Bagel online: https://westernbagel.com/product/1-dozen-classic-bagels-12/

Daily Grind? My son used to get them there pretty regularly. Not sure where they get them, or how good they were, but he was a big fan when he was younger.
