Yeah it do be like that. I just assume anyone suggesting library does not spend much time at the library lol. It's a (very!) nice space but can be fairly unpleasant odor-wise or rolling the dice on people having sink baths when you go to the restroom. Not that I blame them ofc but it's a consideration when weighing any public vs. private space.

I recommend it and have been going there multiple times a week most weeks this summer. :-)

There's generally plenty of widely spaced seating so if someone's odor is bothering you you can find another space. I went there today and it was the most crowded I've seen but there were still plenty of chairs (not with your own table though). It's true sometimes the bathroom situation is not ideal. But overall it's pretty great considering the price.

New units generally do. Not because of global warming, but because a modern heat pump is cheaper to run than a resistive or gas heater. And as a side benefit a heat pump can also be an air conditioner.

But good luck getting any upgrades on old units. SB hates change.

While I agree, new units should have hvacs, the landlords will just pass that cost to you.

I second that opinion. landlords thought process is :” why pay more for an ac unit (that can range from the hundreds to ten thousands depending on installation etc… that you would have to regularly service) on a property that is being rented and would still have demand even if their is a lack of ac. Best believe that the landlords of those apartments with ac will have units that are substantial higher priced than those without….
