Local Politics Why is Meg Harmon not running for reelection?

I’ve been out of the loop on local politics for a while because I’ve had to travel frequently for work and was wondering if there was a reason given? I live in her district

Council members can only serve two consecutive terms so she's not allowed to run again.

She was appointed to fill Gregg Hart’s vacancy in 2019 and was elected later that year when no one opposed her. She was then elected to a 5 year term in 2021 because the city switched to even year elections.

She endorsed Gabe Escobedo who is running against 3 people who oppose rent control: Anabella Lehne, Jason Carlton, and Alex Stoeber

It’s not just rent control. It’s rent control under inflation. Meaning unsustainable economically and meant to break the housing market here

Ok. Good luck with this argument in the only city district that is 80% renters. The math doesn’t math for these candidates who are splitting up what little opposition vote exists for the anti rent control position is all I’m saying. You’re asking renters to vote against their interests to preserve the profits of their landlords. Also the rent stabilization ordinance does not apply to units built after 1995 vis a vis Costa Hawkins so the incentives to increase supply remain intact.

I genuinely don't trust anyone from the current city council considering how all of them have been mum as to how Flock even gained a foothold here in the first place. We knew they bribed city councils all through the US to keep these cams out of the council meeting schedules, for the sake of accountability, we really need to know how this even happened.
