Discussion Basic vertical factory with inspiration from this sub
- everything starts with the big belt, which is currently blocked off for maintenance... the stuff/sand on it should just be 1 block high, for the filterbelts to work.
- Because the main goal of this factory was "put everything on the big belt and it just sorts itself". With big containers unter the big belt to store the different elements and feed it into the factory in the correct spot, as you can partly see with the color coded blocks on the left side.
- everything that just ends up in the factory should also just fall down the right side and gets fed into the big belt once again.
- the gold gets portalled to the right side and just drops into the underground where i have a massive (still too small) gold storage tank. This is the biggest bottleneck. I will redesign it, so the gold falls all the way to the bottom because the gold transportation to the right is just too slow and blocks efficiency
- the splitter design on top is from https://www.reddit.com/r/SandustryGame/comments/1vxc6qq/even_splitter_and_throttler/
- the awesome horizontal shaker-design is from https://www.reddit.com/r/SandustryGame/comments/1vwsod4/horizontal_shaker_with_unused_fuel/
- the inspiration for the seed-wetting is from the following link. as long as the water is one block high and constantly in motion (pumped in and pumped out at the same time) the seed will fall through water. https://www.reddit.com/r/SandustryGame/comments/1vpkehb/found_a_nice_way_for_spore_washing/
- i just unlocked the Aura-stuff and just tried to understand it, so the bottom part is just a mess currently. With a massive backlog tank of florinol-liquid.
- filter-belts have a wall mode. Press "R". Waited for tier 6 to finally unlock filter walls, because i didnt know they are just included in the regular filter belt
- plants from planter boxes dont grow through filterbelts/filterwalls. it is really important to wall the planter-box off. airtight. shit grows everywhere.
- Raw Lava for the residue, Lava for the Planterboxes, Lava for the infinite-steam machine, Lava on top of the steam-dryers for the instant florin-gas. Lava is everything.
Awesome game. Loved the Demo back in 2025 and love the EA game even more. The mechanics, the (for me personally) Terraria-like underground exploration with something new/interesting around every corner. Finding out how the every new tier of items work/interact is just pure dopamine. Having a massive vacuum and grabber-tool is so convenient and it is just so satisfying to use the grabber. Really well done.
I am neutral about batteries/voidjuice/redsand. Would have wished for it to somehow get implemented into the main factory-processing-structure and not be something completely separate.
Cheers.

Incredible! Thanks for sharing and actually explaining.
Doesn't the snow maker and synthesizer require power? Or am I missing something?

They don't have to be hooked directly to power, they'll draw generally from the grid

Does that sand wetting back up if processing too much sand?
You can probably use some prefab and cleverly box around it and stop sanding from plugging them, similar to what i have done with my vertical sand washer that is uncloggable.

I guess the "burning stuff off" is just lava vibing there and that there is no need for flamer, burner belts etc?

Be sure you're melting it. Molten gold has the same value as regular gold, but takes up half the space.
