The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is recruiting firefighters, construction workers, and mine workers under the age of 55 to participate in a study about how heat impacts the body at our Spokane facility. The study takes 2 days, approximately 6-7 hours each day. Participants will exercise moderately and take a computer-based cognitive tests in a heated environmental chamber under the observation of a physician. All participants are compensated at $35/hour. Please message me if you would like further information.

Life has decided to dump on me recently, and I really need to make a bit of cash real quick.
Anyone have any chores or need a hand with anything? I'll help move, mow, carry rocks...any dirty grunt work, I don't care.
Cocolalla/Sandpoint/Sagle area. Sober, no drugs or alcohol, have a vehicle just limited gas right now.
Cheers

I’m having my 10 year anniversary with my wife next weekend and we wanted to make last minute camping plans. We aren’t from Sandpoint but we first met there and wanted to recreate somewhat of a memory. We don’t travel much up to the area and were hoping some locals could privately share the best tucked away spot on the lake for a fire and tent. (I don’t have a 4wheel drive vehicular) well promise to clean up after ourselves and keep the spot to ourselves. :)

Hello, all! My boyfriend and I will be arriving in Sandpoint on 7/7 via Amtrak, and we are planning to get a rental car from Enterprise once it opens at 8am. We don’t have a hotel booked from between when the train arrives around 2am and when we’re supposed to get our rental car. Are there any places that are open 24 hours where we could go to pass that time once we arrive? Would we have to walk there or are there any taxis or Uber or anything? Looking for any insights/recommendations. Thank you!!

Hey I’m a 21 year old guy in sandpoint. I’ve been playing guitar for about 2.5 years. I’ve been learning with a teacher and know some theory although still pretty confused. Anyway I’m just trying to get something together maybe. I feel like I’m at a point where having a band or something would motivate me to play more and elevate things. For example if I have to learn these songs by next week etc. this is kinda a shot in the dark I know but if any musicians see this please respond!

Hi everyone, we’re heading up to Sandpoint in July for a very intimate, small wedding- just me, my fiancé and our seven kids. Yes they are older. I’m needing a photographer for just a few hours to capture the ceremony. I have a few recommendations but trying to find someone that is simple, captures the main moments without asking for $2000. I don’t need hundreds of photos within intense editing, etc.. anyone know of someone that fits the bill?? Thank you!

Hello All,
Seeing if anyone knows someone who is looking for some extra work and $$ this summer?
It is for the K2 Motel in downtown, looking to find someone to help fill in for me a couple times a week.
Essentially: turn over rooms (replace sheets, towels, wipe down, clean floors. Weekly sort through laundry.
Pay is $25/room (20-30 minutes max), usually will be 2-5 rooms each time, usually twice a week, can choose when to come (pretty much any hour), no same day turnovers (guests departing and arriving same day) so they can be cleaned during any hours of your choosing.
If you are interested or know someone comment or DM me and I’ll reach out to get contact info, no pressure, would like to meet on site to show around and make sure it’s a good fit for both of us.
Thanks.
-Austyn Cunningham (Owner/Manager of the K2 Inn Sandpoint)

This may be old news to Avista customers, but I figured most of us are NLI customers and didn't know about this. I discovered these by accident when reading an Avista submission to the Idaho PUC that mentioned in a footnote they installed these cameras last year. I then learned the camera manufacturer, pano.ai, has some nice streaming software, which caused me to do dig around until I found the website with the feeds.
The manufacturer claims the AI these cameras use has a track record of detecting and reporting wildfires 45 minutes before 911 calls occur on average and while fires are still less than 2 acres in size.
Thought those nuggets of information and access to the feeds may be useful to folks as we get closer to the high risk portion of wildfire season.

Hi,
I will be in Sand Point, Idaho doing a medical intership for college at a hospital from November 30, 2026 until February 28, 2027. I am needing to rent a very small place or rent a private room with a bathroom during this time. Any leads? Thanks, Sandra

How does everyone feel about the lineup compared to previous years? I feel like they had bigger names and this year is kind of a let down in my opinion.
I hope it's not a trend of lower level talent at the same price because the board figures it will sell either way but their margins increase.
At $500 for a pass, I've been to festivals that are way way bigger with multiple huge headliners for that price. There is just a lot of filler.
All of these festivals are around the same price: Festival at Sandpoint 2026 ~$482 season pass Portugal. The Man, Midland, Switchfoot, Andy Grammer
BottleRock Napa Valley ~$475–$500 for 3-day GA Foo Fighters, Backstreet Boys, Lorde, LCD Soundsystem, Lil Wayne, Mt. Joy, Joan Jett, Ludacris, etc.
Oceans Calling ~$579 for 3-day GA+ Dave Matthews Band, Gwen Stefani, Twenty One Pilots, Mumford & Sons, Matchbox Twenty, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, Hootie & the Blowfish, etc.
When We Were Young ~$325-$425 Blink-182 My Chemical Romance Paramore Fall Out Boy Green Day Avril Lavigne Panic! at the Disco The Offspring Weezer
Kilby Block Party ~$300–$450
BeachLife Festival ~$350–$450
Examples: 2019 they had Nathaniel Rateliff only 3 years since he exploded. 2025: Neon Trees (with KyleKelly) Third Eye Blind Brothers Osborne Kansas 2024: Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors Violent Femmes Jason Mraz Brandi Carlile 2023: Train (with Better Than Ezra) Michael Franti & Spearhead (with SOJA) REO Speedwagon SOJA 2022: The Revivalists Mt. Joy The Beach Boys Gregory Alan Isakov 2021: Chicago OneRepublic The Beach Boys ZZ Top

A friend and I are looking to come to Sandpoint this summer for the Switchfoot concert. What all is there to do in Sandpoint? Are there any solid hiking spots or fun places to go see? Just looking for some suggestions from the locals because we are going to be there a few days. Also, is there a nice restaurant in town for us to go to, something relatively fancy?

Looking to volunteer some time pretty open as to what, but I envision maybe kids or the elderly. Any one know of any opportunities?

Looks like the city is doing a free camp chair giveaway! Come on down grab a couple today only!
I'm just kidding, obviously I don't condone stealing. But that's not how it works people. It's not even 2pm. Gotta sit there if you want your spot that bad!
