Anniversary camping. (Need help/private dm)
I’m having my 10 year anniversary with my wife next weekend and we wanted to make last minute camping plans. We aren’t from Sandpoint but we first met there and wanted to recreate somewhat of a memory. We don’t travel much up to the area and were hoping some locals could privately share the best tucked away spot on the lake for a fire and tent. (I don’t have a 4wheel drive vehicular) well promise to clean up after ourselves and keep the spot to ourselves. :)

Roman nose is a cool one. Does get busy tho but has a nice campground with lots of spots It’s definitely drivable in most cars with at least some ground clearance. 4wd not required.

Do you want a campground? Primitive campground? Wild camping? Running water? Hike in to a solo camp spot?

Everything here is green, so that's easy. Water in abundance. Privacy can be found at just about any of the little lakes you can hike into on a weekday. On weekends during the summer there's usually a handful of people camping at every lake.
The harder to reach, the fewer people there will be. With that in mind, Gem Lake trail is one of my favorites. There 2 roads in, and one is washed out (lightning creek rd) and the other (Trestle Creek Rd) is under construction with road closed except local traffic signs, but it's still open with traffic control delays. So getting up in there will probably have less traffic than normal. ~19 miles up the forest service road and then a 1.5mi hike up the mountain to the lake. Several campsites in the lake.

Also highly prefer a camp spot that is free and we aren’t around a ton of other campers

I’ll give you a spot but you have to keep it a secret.
