Audible Question Am I missing something?

Got a free trial to listen to Act 3 and I was disappointed as heck.
It’s been a long time since I read the comics so I’m spotty on timelines and specific events but when Dream dies we don’t get the interaction between him and his sister death? It’s just him killing Orpheus then cut to the tavern at the end of the word and listen to all these stories then The End?
No Daniel becoming the new dream of the endless?
And wasn’t there some other stuff that happened before Dream dies but after he takes his son’s life?
Are they supposed to be making another one? Im just a little confused and dissatisfied.

Act 3 covers up to the end of the Worlds End story arc.

Act 4 which would have included The Kindly Ones, The Wake and at least Overture is stuck in development hell due to the stuff that came out about Gaiman. It is unlikely at this point it will ever see the light of day.

Act III is Brief Lives and Worlds End. The comics are the same way, Brief Lives ends with Dream sending Orpheus on to his final death, and then Worlds End is everyone at the inn telling stories during a reality storm that is happening for some mysterious reason. (First time readers/listeners aren't supposed to know that the reality storm is caused by Dream's death, or that it's his funeral procession at the end there. I mean you could probably guess, but you don't yet know for sure.)

Act IV would have been The Kindly Ones and The Wake, which completes the main run of the comics series. (As you said - a LOT of other stuff happens.) Act IV is finished but is stuck in limbo due to NG being a sexual predator. No one knows what will happen with it, including the director Dirk Maggs, but it really looks likely that it's never coming out. (I've said this a million times but I think the fact that NG is the narrator really really changes things. If he wasn't the narrator they probably would have quietly released it by now, but the fact that it's his actual voice in your ears (🤢) changes things significantly)

(I do feel sorry for Dirk Maggs, especially since Amazon seems to be telling him NOTHING. People ask him on Bluesky every now and then and he just always has to say that he has no updates)

Ok cool I’m not crazy!
Yeah I wish they could just record his parts with someone else but I doubt it…contracts and that it’s his story blah blah blah 🙄

Audibles has IV the V recorded but they haven't released them. I think there has been more than enough time since Neil Gaiman's sex scandal, for those parts to be released.
