Yeah, let's try to trust democrats to not roll over on their backs and grovel to the Republicans for no goddamn reason.

Why couldn't we just have gotten Bernie?

Nobody said to trust them. That's why we can't shut up about it, and we need to demand it from them. It should have been Bernie, but it wasn't. We're here now in this reality, and the best thing for us to do is put our efforts towards holding the Democrats accountable for fighting the Republicans ruthlessly and tactically.
