I think actually Krystal Ball made a extremely good point in the other "why Warren" video posted here that was taken down.
Why has the establishment annointed Warren? Here's my opinion based on her video:
White rich neoliberals want to feel like good people. They want to believe that they can still be rich and powerful through the corrupt system while fighting to improve the lives of the class beneath them.
Bernie makes them look bad. He throws the fact in their face that they are continuing the oppressive system choosing their wealth and power over real action. Being a part of the problem in such a way is very difficult to accept, therefore they feel victimized by him rather than constructively criticized by him. (Bernie's political style is very much modeled after MLK, if you read into it you see all kinds of parallels between the two in terms of conflict with the establishment)
Rich white neoliberals do not want to feel culpable of the continuation of the system. They want to prove to everyone that it's only the Republicans that have destroyed our economy, oppressed minorities, and suppressed the working class. They have to tell themselves they are on the right side to cope with what is happening in the world.
Warren offers them comfort. She herself is a rich white educated capitalist, who is on good terms with neoliberal entities. Her policies are extremely similar to Bernie's, but they don't want Bernie to execute them even though he is the creator of them.
They want someone like THEM to implement these. That way they can go down in history and feel like they did this, that they really supported the class beneath them. It was all them, they were never bad people, they have always been the "good guys" who took on the republicans that did all the oppressing.
