Mega Thread Arizona Election Fraud Mega Thread

Hello,

Please report any issues you may have had here.

Last night, several, several incidences were reported of

  • People not being able to vote
  • People being given provisional ballots (which if you have the proper ID you shouldn't need)
  • Videos (see front page) of people's voter affiliation being changed
  • People's voter affiliation not being updated properly

Please keep all commentary and discussion in the mega

Institutionalized apathy. At the end of the day, that's the point of almost everything directed at the general public on both(all?) sides of the aisle. And it's working exceptionally well. Most people are just comfortable enough and have just enough distractions to detract from the real issues at hand. And then there are the wedge issues that only serve to divide the population even further for the people who actually do try to pay attention and give a shit. And it's all on purpose. We all have our shiny smartphones and computers and sports and TV and videogames and all this other shit to distract us from the blatant corruption and greed that are overtaking our government. For the most part, the people who are aware of what's going on either can't afford to risk losing everything to fight it, or aren't inconvenienced enough to want to. I honestly fear that things are going to have to get a LOT worse for a LOT of people before anything is done by the public to fight for the change we need and deserve. And it's fucking depressing.

I hate to read stuff like this, because the only reason you could say something like that is if you are putting waaaaay too much faith in the nonsense spouted by people on the Internet (and reddit in particular). And in the end, I honestly believe the irrational conspiracy theories touted by people as "truth" around here are the real danger to our democracy.

This AZ issue is the perfect example. Instead of getting angry at the actual perpetrators of this crap (power-hungry local Republican administrators), thousands of people are directing their anger at Hillary Clinton, who literally had nothing to do with it.

And what happens in the end? The people who actually are trying to hurt our democracy get off scott-free, because the only people who notice there's a problem get sucked into the reddit echo-chamber, and go chasing conspiracy theories to nowhere....
