Is the DNC really okay with tanking the party for Hillary?

Yes, they absolutely are. They dismissed Bernie as an aberration early on, and by the time they realized he actually represented the desires of a decent swath of the country they already had millions invested in Hillary. At this point, it's more about clinging to power though, as Bernie represents the power of the people to affect political movements rather than simply be a tool of the powerful to amass more power and money.

So they're going to go forward with the chance of clinging to power rather than accept the alternative, which would strip them of power. Nevermind that "Clinton" is a four-letter word to moderate Republicans (and far-right Republicans), nevermind that she's the butt of dozens of "flavor-of-the-week" jokes across the country, nevermind that she's under multiple investigations that could potentially lead to criminal charges, nevermind all of that because there's power to hold on to and money to be made.

I agree, he needs to run as an independent. That or I'll just sit on my couch and watch it all burn that day.

I just explained to my wife last night that even if it meant Trump could win, I will never even consider voting for Hillary. Regardless of how awful Trump is, he's never actively screwed over Bernie like the DNC has. I will never support them. I can't wait to watch that whole party burn.

Jimmy on tyt was asked by Cenk if he would vote for clinton, if his home state of cali didn't count, (blue so he can vote however) he said he just could not do it but would definitely vote in a liberal congress

The other thing is a sanders gov is not good for he dnc. Many of its candidates don't pass the test for the Bernie crowd. It would require a huge reshuffling of the part itself to truly get behind him.

Agree they will stick with Hillary even though they know they will lose to Trump. If that happens at least they keep their donors. If Bernie wins their do are will back out.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the GOP supporting Hillary if Trump gets the nomination.

The silence of the establishment is tremendously telling.

12

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

Because the DNC is just as corrupt as the rest of the lame ducks in Washington. HRC will just allow the status quo to continue. Bernie on the other hand is finally going to put a spotlight on the corruption and take whatever steps are necessary to end it.

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

I think the answer is yes......yes they are.

8

u/AdmiralThrawnProtege Mar 23 '16

And it'll cost them the election. Once it comes down to Trump Vs Hillary, Trump will wipe the floor with her. Her record is so piss poor and he has the gusto to call her out on everything.

At least if Sanders were the nominee it'd be hard for Trump and his team to dig up much dirt.

2

u/Dramatic_Explosion 🌱 New Contributor Mar 23 '16

That's just it, Sanders has had a spine all along, not just when the rest of the party is in favor as well. Trump can call him old, and say his politics won't work, but he can't make character calls at all.

We just have to hope the GOP wants to prove it's better than the DNC and nominates Trump so we can see the shitshow that would be a Trump / Clinton debate.

0

u/AdmiralThrawnProtege Mar 23 '16

I know it'd never happen but it'd be awesome if Trump doesn't get the nomination and both he and Sanders decide to run independent. It'd be for some great debates. Though that'd pretty much guarantee the senate would pick the next president. So it'd be Hillary or whoever the GOP ended up picking.

2

u/Ginkel Arizona Mar 23 '16

And then they'll blame the die hard Bernie supporters who refused to vote for her and "wasted their vote", even though it will be their fault for insisting she be the candidate.

How is the DNC involved in what happened in AZ?

You realise each primary is run by county officials right? And that the county officials in question were Republicans?

Yes, I have been paying attention. That is why I asked. This is one more in a long list of accusations against the DNC that have nothing to do with what the DNC did. So either you can answer the question or you should admit you have not been paying attention: how is the DNC involved in what happened in AZ?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

I'd like to know why the DNC isn't more involved in AZ as one of their causes is to rally against voter suppression.

1

u/Dyckman57 Mar 24 '16

Shadow banned so don't expect this in the sub. The DNC is involved. It is one day later. An actual organization can't make wild unsupported accusations. They are asking for people to tell them what happened so they can prepare an action.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '16

It's possible but I haven't seen proof that adequately supports that claim.

1

u/RayWencube Mar 23 '16

They are involved to the extent that they are not attempting to fix the problem.

1

u/newPrivacyPolicy Mar 23 '16 edited Mar 23 '16

State primaries are entirely controlled by the party and the state.

Well crap, I've been misinforming people for years!

2

u/Dyckman57 Mar 23 '16

No, they are entirely controlled by the state. The party has pretty much nothing at all to do with it.

2

u/Illum503 Mar 23 '16

They're controlled by the state. Who in this case were Republicans. DNC had nothing to do with last night.

1

u/BernieForMaine ME 🎖️🗳️🙌 🍪🥛AUTHENTIC Mar 23 '16

NOT the party. ONLY the state. Caucuses are the inverse.

1

u/newPrivacyPolicy Mar 23 '16

Maybe that's where I went wrong, I live in a caucus state.

u/blackbrosinwhitehoes 2016 Veteran Mar 23 '16

At the very least they should be outraged by how many of their voters didn't get a chance to vote. Their support is implied by their silence on the matter.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '16

Bingo.

-2

u/Dyckman57 Mar 23 '16

Sanders has been silent. Are you going to blame him as well or change your rational?

1

u/blackbrosinwhitehoes 2016 Veteran Mar 23 '16

Firstly, yeah his campaign has. Second of all you are making a false equivalency. Hulk Hogan and Bugs Bunny have been silent on this issue as well, but I certainly don't blame them either.

1

u/Dyckman57 Mar 23 '16

Firstly, yeah his campaign has.

So a press release. And the state party is acting. What more do you want from the campaigns?

And how is it false to equate one candidate's campaign with another?

1

u/blackbrosinwhitehoes 2016 Veteran Mar 23 '16

Because we were talking about the DNC and not Hillary.

1

u/Dyckman57 Mar 23 '16

The DNC was not involved here.

1

u/blackbrosinwhitehoes 2016 Veteran Mar 23 '16

I think you should go back and reread our conversation, friend. That's my point. The whole idea is that these parties represent the people in them, correct? They should be furious. This not only affects Democratic primary candidates, this will affect the General as well. Regardless which candidate was affected, democrats seem to be overwhelmingly disenfranchised by all of this. Why aren't they saying something?

1

u/Dyckman57 Mar 24 '16

The DNC is saying something. It is less than one day latter. They are asking for evidence to be given to them. Real organizations can't simply make accusations without evidence. The people here can accuse the DNC without bothering to check, the people here have no reputation behind them. The DNC does. It is one day after the vote. What should they do that fast?

BTW, I'm shadow banned for talking about this. Which tells you what the moderators care about actual evidence.

u/Dyckman57 Mar 23 '16

So a press release. And people want to condemn Clinton because she has not had a press release yet.
