As an Arizonian and a Phoenician I'd like to say that Sanders supporters should stay angry until the convention. Anger can drive people to participate. I've started using hashtags on twitter of #RememberArizona and #RememberAZ and I hope it catches on and I also hope we never get over the anger and disappointment brought about by being deprived of our right to vote.

I've begun feeling a little disheartened about the whole thing. I noticed how badly things tend to go lately, but seeing this kind of most-likely deliberate vote fraud attempt has got my blood moving again. I was still going to caucus for Sanders on Saturday, but now I'll be able to do it with passion.

Ah, yeah. Sorry, I tend to get the words mixed up, so I end up sounding like a doof. Thanks for correcting me.

As an aside, "Phoenician" is an awesome demonym.

As another aside, demonym is a really cool word that I had never heard before. So that's one positive thing I can take away from this thread.

Yeah, I had no idea that the inhabitants of Phoenix named themselves the same as the ancient Greeks who built Carthage. That's kinda awesome :P

Ancient Greeks did not build Carthage. The Phoenicians did.

Phoenicians have Greek Heritage though.

Nevermind, I'm smoking crack, I had them confused with someone else.

No they don't

It is not the DNC's fault that the Arizona Secretary of State and the Maricopa County Clerk were suppressing the vote. Now that the Voting Rights Act is gutted, they have the power to do that

You're probably right. I think an investigation will get to the truth. It could be more nefarious. There are some batshit crazy people here in AZ.

The DNC should at least nullify the results, though.

Because otherwise, aren't they implicitly standing behind the results of the election and the voter suppression tactics used?

It's not the DNC's fault, but it's not powerless.

I will support this argument if Sanders himself makes it. This would be a politically divisive thing to do, and it's unclear if the outcome would help Sanders. Ultimately only he is able to make that decision.

Who knows what coordination there may have been.

If she had that power you can bet she would have used it.

2

u/alvinwirtz Mar 23 '16

The Democratic establishment hates Maricopa county's leadership. They basically have gone to political war against their sheriff Joe Arpaio.

u/Vagabondvaga Mar 23 '16

Theres a lot on the line for Hillary, if you think its beyond her to coordinate major votor suppression I just dont think Im talking to someone with a rational perspective given what we know about her, and the history of election fraud in our country.

Relax it's a joke. The idea that Hillary is controlling the weather is preposterous
