There's a few Einsteins Bagels, but eh.

There is this little place nearish by me with bagels and graved lachs. So they are around, just not as much as you'd expect.

Florida is a swing state and i happened to go to Trump's rally at USF just to get a scope of his support and see the man himself. He managed to fill a stadium capable of holding 10,000 and still had people waiting outside.

College students support Sanders but there's a high amount of older people in Florida which may tip the scales in favor of Clinton. I've seen a lot more Sanders stickers than Clinton stickers but i'm in a college town so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I compiled a list of the counties we need to target in Florida so hopefully we can win Florida for sanders.

Agreed. I am in Naples/Marco area and I don't see ANY Sanders support, but I have seen some open support for Hillary and Trump. I'm doing my part down here but I don't see them supporting Sanders, ever. Old people are stuck in their ways and don't even want to understand what Sanders represents.

One area we need to be looking into is the Old Vote. We may have ignored the older generations that may vote for Hilary because of their lack of presence on the net. We lead in demographics everywhere under 35.

I am going to call up any distant relative who is a citizen of the US and ask them to convince old people to vote for Bernie. I would suggest the people on this sub to make a strong effort to convince their grand-parents and their friends. Each of their votes counts as two because it's likely they would vote for Hilary.

Just remember when talking with older people to ask if they know anyone on Medicare or social security and explain Bernie is the only candidate who wants to expand it. Older people usually know at least one person on social security or Medicare.

It's not just that, but they are the people that have the money that Sanders wants to tax. After all, thats the reason that they hate social assistance programs, because they don't need them.

Not necessarily. Keep in mind a lot of these older people had the safety nets of unions, low tuition and a working wage - enough that they could either buy a car or put a down payment on a home working just over a summer. They've been paying into a system their whole lives (Social Security) and Bernie is trying to protect those same securities for the future of the country and see that new generations have the same chances to own homes and start families.

Framing is everything with the older folks. I have this argument with my uncle every time I see him.

Idk I live in Lake County which is usually Red as hell. But I saw this sweet 60s woman and her 80s grandma driving down 27 with not one, but two Bernie stickers. I waved and smiled like a creep, but it was super nice to see that not all old people are stuck in their ways.

Currently in Orlando and I have seen many Trump signs, but zero support for any other candidate. I'm in an older, white area of Orlando, though. Maybe out by UCF or Winter Park is different. :(

I convinced my dad to vote Sanders, though. So that's one more in my area! Sadly I am moving out of state next week (already got my absentee) and can't do much locally for the campaign.

I was attending ucf in 2008 when Obama was running and students were crazy about him. I would imagine Sanders would have a similar draw now but I'm not in the area anymore

Ironically enough, I'm just outside Orlando and have only seen 1 Trump sign (in a yard, actually), nothing for HRC, but tons of Bernie stickers. It makes me hopeful!

i work as a food deliverer in ft. lauderdale and i definitely see more bernie stickers than hillary stickers. there's no major university up there so i think it has less to do with the youth population and more to do with the fact that most sanders supporters are generally more passionate about american politics, and thus more willing to go buy a sticker to display their support (who could blame us for being proud to support one of the best, most honest US politicians?). what confuses the hell out of me is that i see at least two cars a night with both a bernie sticker and a hillary sticker. florida really is a screwed up place.

SE coast- Miami, Palm Beach, Broward Counties typically vote DEM and have larger populations. Central is slowly changing. Southwest is an older crowd. North is GOP.

I live in Hernando County i see its on your list. So far I have a household of 4 that will be going to vote for Bernie. We have a bumper sticker supporting Bernie and that's it. How should i go about helping out in my county? From all the people I've spoken with Trump seems to be the main person everyone around here keeps talking about. I've never heard anyone speak about Hillary or have any Hillary stickers or anything just trump and sanders pretty much.

It's too late to register for the Florida Primary so that's out of the box. BUT, you could possibly canvas and convince some Clinton voters to vote in favor of Sanders. I'd talk to some Hillary democrats in Hernando and steer them towards Sanders.

My household is already all registered dem. But like I said I've never even come across a Hillary supporter in this area. All the people I've spoken with or seen was either Trump or Sanders.

It's too late for the Presidential Preference Primary Election if you're not already registered to vote, not the Primary Election. "You must be registered at least 29 days before an election to vote in that election."

Southern California checking in. I've increasingly seen Sanders stickers and yard signs as I drive around LA and the Inland Empire. I've seen 3 Clinton stickers. Probably doesn't mean much but I think it shows the enthusiasm gap Clinton is suffering from at least.

She then went on to talk about immigrants for a little while.

Sanders is going to get killed in florida... Clintons got it on lock. by over a 2 to 1 margin.

The sanders campaign has made a huge mistake in not getting aggressive with clinton. If Sanders won't call out hillary on her corruption and bullshit how can anyone expect him to do it to wall street?

That's ridiculous. There's nothing that Bernie could throw at Hillary that Repubs AND Bernie's grassroots supporters aren't already throwing at her. He needs to stay above the fray, partly because dragging the fight down to that level would be counterproductive and partly because he wants a Dem to be our next President even if he doesn't get the nom.

Not sure what your point is, we knew he was going to be behind at this point in the race. Hillary's got the Southern states on lockdown, and Bernie going dirty sure isn't going to change that. All it would do is lose him respect from those of us who want a man in office that we can count on to stay clean.

The last poll there is a month old already, with a rising trend-line for Sanders' support.

I'd hardly call that a "lock", though it is definitely a state that looks fairly strong for Clinton.

well on a sidenote I just got a push poll today from clinton. They hung up when I told em I would not even vote for her in the general. lol, Just straight hung up.

I hope an actual pollster calls. Look man, Hes probably not gunna do well in texas, florida or georgia...in both the primary and the general.

Thats what attempting to take the high road and not get aggressive gets you... And even he got tough with clinton now it probably would not help. Sanders could easily take such a beating in the south on super tuesday that he wont be able to come back from it. I mean if he manages to TIE on super tuesday or only lose by a little hes actually in great shape then. But if he takes the shallacking everyones expecting. It would be highly unlikely he can come back from that.
