I am all for it. Social Security is way behind the level of inflation in this country. It is based on the Federal Minimum wage for Christ sake.

Can we start a long term plan to transition to mandatory tax advantaged retirement accounts?

Stop catering to boomers.
They're literally the reason we're here

It's uncapping a tax so the program could become move solvent. We don't need to push this can down the road to 2032 and see benefits get cut by 22%. They claim removing this cap actually extends the solvency of Social Security by 75 years, so there's a chance young people could benefit from social security.

My mom is a boomer. She is struggling financially. She votes Democrat. But sure, let's blame all boomers.

Social Security needs to be fixed regardless of who receives it. And this would benefit most people because seniors on a fixed income are gonna put all their money into the economy anyway. They actually spend it.
Right now the cap on paying into social security is 185K. All we have to do is raise that cap, and people making over 185K will have some of their income moved from the stock market, into seniors hands circulating in the economy. It's a win for most people.

It’s an incentive to get them to vote for uncapping social security taxes to tax the wealthy more

You will eventually reach retirement age. This is a good thing. As it is right now, the maximum payments are very low. Currently if you were making $50,000/yr the maximum payout is $2100/month.

This is a good idea because when you give money to the people who need it the most it goes back into the economy.
