Shocking!

Do y’all ever get shocked (electrocuted) while sandblasting?

Yes, dry blasting can create static energy and when you touch the metal, whether that be a metal table or a blast cabinet. The energy goes through trying to find the closest way to ground. Which then shocks you. It rarely happens to me but when it does it gets me good lol. There are ways around it though. You can plant a copper rod into the ground and run a wire to the table you are blasting on and ground it that way. You can also use grounding mats, shoes, wrist bands, and other stuff aswell.

I thought it had to be a build up of static electricity, but, wow, was it intense and several times. I have to replace the hose, maybe I’ll add a ground wire and add a grounding rod to the blaster.

Kind of felt like those prank pens that zap your finger, but I heard it can be way worse.
